“#What Isn’t Hailey Telling Jay? (VIDEO)<\/strong>”<\/p>\n

Uh-oh, should we be worried about Upstead\u2019s future?<\/p>\n

At the beginning of TV Insider\u2019s exclusive sneak peek of the April 7 episode of Chicago P.D.<\/em><\/a>, it sounds like Detective Hailey Upton (Tracy Spiridakos<\/a>) has been lying to her partner (and boyfriend) Detective Jay Halstead (Jesse Lee Soffer<\/a>).<\/p>\n

\u201cI had ones like this when I was a kid: swallows,\u201d she remarks as she looks at the decorations on the window of a kid\u2019s room.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo you didn\u2019t make it to the shop, huh?\u201d Halstead asks.<\/p>\n

She fumbles as she answers him before settling on, \u201cno, I didn\u2019t.\u201d<\/p>\n

The rest of the team arriving turns the focus to the case (but we remain worried about the new couple). No one has seen the husband, Ray, wife, Helen, or daughter, Becca, in two days, which is odd because, according to a neighbor, \u201cthey were homebodies.\u201d Their phones have been shut off. The car\u2019s in the garage. There are cardboard boxes upstairs, as well as empty suitcases. Were they packing to go somewhere?<\/p>\n

But then Officer Kim Burgess (Marina Squerciati<\/a>) alerts the others to \u201csomething weird.\u201d Watch the clip above to find out what that is.<\/p>\n

As revealed in the logline for this episode, \u201cSigns of Violence,\u201d this all stems from a wellness check on a family. After finding signs of foul play, Upton is determined to find the family, and \u201cas [she] delves further into the troubled family dynamics, she finds herself reflecting on her own childhood trauma.\u201d<\/p>\n

This comes after Upton\u2019s abusive father came up in an earlier episode this season, soon after she and Halstead got together. When her dad was hospitalized, she lied to Halstead about visiting him. (She did go to the hospital but didn\u2019t enter his room.)<\/p>\n

What does the future have in store for Upstead? Let\u2019s just hope this episode isn\u2019t setting this new relationship to end like Upton and Halstead\u2019s past inter-team romances.<\/p>\n
