(AP) \u2014 Rory McIlroy stopped by to encourage Tiger Woods as he recovers from multiple leg injuries and might have come away with some inspiration of his own.<\/p>\n<p> \u201cIn his family room he\u2019s got this trophy cabinet and it\u2019s his 15 major trophies,\u201d McIlroy said Tuesday. \u201cI said, \u2018That\u2019s really cool. Where are all the others?\u2019 He said, \u2018I don\u2019t know.&#8217;\u201d<\/p>\n<div class=\"paywall\">\n       Woods \u2014 who isn\u2019t playing this year because of injuries from a car crash in February \u2014 has 82 victories on the PGA Tour alone, a record he shares with Sam Snead, and more than a dozen others from the European, Asian, Japan and Australian tours.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe said, \u2018Yeah, my mom has some, and a few are in the office and a few are wherever,\u2019\u201d McIlroy said. \u201cI was driving home and I was thinking, \u2018That\u2019s all he cared about. So how easy that must have felt for him to win all the others.\u2019 That was just always in my mind. He talked about, \u2018These are the four weeks that matter.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>See also: Nike, <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">App<\/a>le suspend endorsement deals with NFL star Deshaun Watson over sexual misconduct allegations<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Only one week matters to Mcllroy at the moment, and not just because it\u2019s the first full week in April at Augusta National.<\/p>\n<p>The Masters \u2014 Woods has five of those silver trophies \u2014 is the one major keeping McIlroy from joining the most elite company in golf by completing the career Grand Slam. Woods was the most recent in 2000. The others are Jack Nicklaus, Gary Player, Ben Hogan and Gene Sarazen.<\/p>\n<p>He isn\u2019t alone in his pursuit of trying to join an exclusive group.<\/p>\n<p>McIlroy played his first practice round of the week with Dustin Johnson, the defending champion who established the scoring record of 20-under 268 in November when the course was much softer.<\/p>\n<p>Woods and Johnson had a <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Twitter<\/a> exchange this week about the Masters.<\/p>\n<div id=\"cx-membership-tile\"><\/div>\n<div data-layout=\"inline\n                \" data-layout-mobile=\"\" class=\"\n          media-object\n          type-InsetTweet\n            inline\n    scope-web|mobileapps\n  article__inset\n          article__inset--type-InsetTweet\n            article__inset--inline\n  \"><\/p>\n<div class=\"dynamic-inset-container article__inset__dynamic\">\n<style>\n            iframe.twitter-tweet {\n                width: 100% !important;\n            }\n        <\/style>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" lang=\"en\"><p>\n            <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/DJohnsonPGA\/status\/1379534380713017350\"><\/a>\n            <\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>        <script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Only three other players have won the Masters back-to-back. Woods \u2014 him again \u2014 was the last to achieve that in 2002. Johnson isn\u2019t much on history, but he knew that one.<\/p>\n<p>He also knows it won\u2019t be easy.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou\u2019re going to have to put four good rounds together, especially with normal conditions,\u201d Johnson said. \u201cYou\u2019ve got to do everything well. And with it firm and fast, it\u2019s just a really hard golf course because any hole at any time can jump out and get you.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt just very tough to win once, and especially multiple times.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>See also: New York officially approves legal online sports betting<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Those two words \u2014 firm and fast \u2014 are being mentioned about as much as green and jacket, and for good reason. Even with the tournament two days away from starting, shots landing on the greens are making a hollow sound that indicates this won\u2019t be target practice.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt was obviously still the same golf course tee-to-green, but it was a different golf course at the same time,\u201d Thomas said after a Tuesday practice round with McIlroy. \u201cAny sort of past memory that you had, you almost had to throw it out the window.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>McIlroy has a mixed bag of memories. It\u2019s hard to overlook 2011, when he was 21 and had curly locks spilling out from under his cap. He built a four-shot lead going into the last round and was on the verge of winning his first major until a <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/watch-movies-tv-seriess\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"8\" title=\"Watch Movies &amp; TV Series\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">series<\/a> of big blunders \u2014 a tee shot into the cabins left of No. 10, a four-putt on No. 12, a tee shot left of the Rae\u2019s Creek tributary on No. 13. It added to an 80.<\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s as close as he\u2019s come to a green jacket. In his second try at completing the career Grand Slam, he played in the final group with Jordan Spieth in 2016 and shot himself out of it with a 77. Two years later, he shot 65 to get into the final group with Patrick Reed and shot 74.<\/p>\n<p>Good and bad, he tries to draw from both.<\/p>\n<p>Different about this year is the state of his <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/game\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"7\" title=\"Game\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">game<\/a>. McIlroy hasn\u2019t won since Shanghai in the fall of 2019, and he got caught up chasing speed and distance after watching Bryson DeChambeau overpower Winged Foot to win the U.S. Open. With his longtime coach unable to <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/trip-and-travel\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"10\" title=\"Trip &amp; Travel\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">travel<\/a> as much, McIlroy said he has brought on famed English instructor Pete Cowen.<\/p>\n<p><strong>See also: Gonzaga basketball star Jalen Suggs\u2019s decision to pass on a football scholarship could end up making him millions<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>He talked about a \u201cbig picture\u201d at Augusta, not a sense of urgency.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m obviously focused on this week, but it\u2019s bigger than that,\u201d McIlroy said. \u201cIt\u2019s a journey, right? And it\u2019s a journey to try to get back to playing the game the way I know that I can play the game.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The lesson imparted from Cowen is to not to look back at what he\u2019s done in a bid to go forward. McIlroy has won four majors \u2014 the PGA Championship twice, the U.S. Open and the British Open \u2014 though he is approaching the seven-year anniversary of his last major title.<\/p>\n<p>He not under as much scrutiny as recent years, certainly not in 2015, his first crack at the Grand Slam.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt feels a little more relaxed this week, which isn\u2019t a bad thing,\u201d McIlroy said. \u201cYeah, I would have loved to have done it at this point, but I realize I\u2019ve still got plenty more years to do it. If I were able to do it, I\u2019d join a very small list of golfers in history that have been able to do it. So I know where it would put me in the game and how cool it would be, and I would love to do it one day.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The current favorite to win the tournament on DraftKings<br \/>\n        DKNG,<br \/>\n        <bg-quote field=\"percentchange\" format=\"0,000.00%\" channel=\"\/zigman2\/quotes\/213120645\/composite\" class=\"negative\">-2.68%<\/bg-quote><br \/>\n       sportsbook is Dustin Johnson, followed by Bryson DeChambeau and Justin Thomas<\/p>\n<p>Bettors however, are backing rising golf star Jordan Spieth.
