Yeah, they\u2019re not over. They\u2019re currently in New York together. FYI.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">It\u2019s been a while but here\u2019s some news: Matt and Rachael? Yeah, they\u2019re not over. They\u2019re currently in New York together. FYI.<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 RealitySteve (@RealitySteve) <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/RealitySteve\/status\/1379575781232377861?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">April 6, 2021<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>However, a source close to James denied the relationship rumors to <em>People<\/em> on Wednesday, saying he and Rachael currently \u201care just friends.\u201d The confidant then added:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cThey are not together. He supports her as a friend. He is not looking for a relationship. Matt is focused on engaging in meaningful projects in the community at this time.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>After everything that went down on his season, we wouldn\u2019t blame him for taking a step back from romance for a while! Even more so, it seems like Matt just needs a break from the <em>Bach<\/em> franchise and everyone, including Rachael. If they were walking around New York, maybe the personalities were catching up and hashing out some unfinished business. Who knows!<\/p>\n<p>It did seem like they were 100 percent finished, though, after the <em>After the Final Rose<\/em> special. As a reminder, the pair met during James\u2019 time on <em>The Bachelor<\/em> and ended up together by the season finale. However, the 29-year-old broke things off with Rachael after photos of her attending an antebellum-themed plantation party in 2018 resurfaced online. They reunited for the first time since their split on<em> AFTR<\/em> with <strong>Emmanuel Acho<\/strong>, where Matt revealed he couldn\u2019t continue with the relationship. He said:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cIf you don\u2019t understand that something like that is problematic in 2018, there\u2019s a lot of me that you won\u2019t understand.
