Rep. Ilhan Omar ripped President Joe Biden for his administration\u2019s reported plans to resume construction on parts of the border wall.<\/p>\n

Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas told Immigration and Customs Enforcement staffers last week that the Biden administration is open to filling \u201cgaps\u201d in the wall lining the border that has seen a recent surge of migrants, according to a Washington Times<\/a> report.<\/p>\n

Mayorkas made the comments while discussing plans submitted by the Customs and Border Protection pertaining to the wall.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere are different projects that the chief of the Border Patrol has presented and the acting commissioner of CBP presented to me,\u201d Mayorkas said in the meeting, the report said.<\/p>\n

On Wednesday, White House press secretary Jen Psaki said that the administration continues to oppose the wall ideologically, and that any possible further construction would only be undertaken out of a legal obligation due to funding already having been allocated prior to the Biden presidency.\n <\/p><\/div>\n
