<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/science\/2018\/feb\/17\/artwork-hidden-under-picasso-painting-revealed-by-x-ray\">reveal a faint image<\/a> of the covered scene.<\/p>\n<p>Art historians suspect it\u2019s a painting of a park\u00a0near Barcelona by Santiago Rusi\u00f1ol, a friend of Picasso\u2019s and leader of the Catalan modernism movement.\u00a0The<span style=\"color: #070707;\">y<\/span>\u00a0believe Picasso traced the hills on the landscape to shape the contours of the crouching woman\u2019s back.<\/p>\n<p><em>[Read:\u00a0New AI technique transforms any image into the style of famous artists]<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The X-ray imaging had uncovered a murky shadow of the painting. AI has been used to reconstruct the image in detail and color.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Resurrecting_buried_art\"><\/span>Resurrecting buried art<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>The recreation was made by<span>\u00a0<\/span>Oxia Palus, an art collective that uses AI to uncover lost masterpieces.<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0Oxia Palus team used a combination of spectroscopic imaging, AI, and 3D printing to actualize the visible trace of the landscape. They call the method \u201cthe neomastic process.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=XzRot2fSRys\">https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=XzRot2fSRys<\/a><br \/>\nThey then used a 3D height map to layer paint onto the canvas in a way in the style of\u00a0Rusi\u00f1ol. They say the <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>roach integrates the depth, thickness, approximate length of\u00a0the artist\u2019s brushstrokes into the recreation.<\/p>\n<p>Oxia Palus\u2019 co-founder, George Cann, says the process can shed light on hidden artworks:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>As we use more AI to accelerate the identification and reconstruction of critically important lost art, we will have a highly significant impact on enabling a better understanding of the interwoven history of art and society.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Oxia Palus is now selling 100 of the canvases, with the inevitable accomp<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/anime-manga\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"6\" title=\"Anime || Manga\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">anime<\/a>nt of an NFT.<\/p>\n<p>We can\u2019t know how closely the reinterpretation matches Rusi\u00f1ol\u2019s original, but the technique could be an interesting tool for art historians.<\/p>\n<p><em>Greetings Humanoids!
