\nSad news<\/a>. It no longer looks like there\u2019s any hope DMX<\/strong> will recover.<\/p>\n

Last Friday night, the X Gon\u2019 Give It to Ya<\/em> rapp<\/a>er fell into a coma last week after an overdose led to a heart attack that left his brain without oxygen for thirty minutes. Since being admitted to the ICU, the performer\u2019s condition has continued to decline. And the latest news on the matter is looking as bad as ever\u2026<\/p>\n

Earlier this week his\u00a0manager Steve Rifkind <\/strong>tried to clear up any rumors about the situation, telling TMZ<\/em> on Tuesday:<\/p>\n

\u201cDMX is currently on life support and in a coma. There are multiple people with inaccurate information about his well-being and it is not helpful and productive.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Rifkind explained the next step doctors were taking on Wednesday, testing the patient, whose real name is Earl Simmons<\/strong>, for critical brain function to determine his family\u2019s next steps:<\/p>\n

\u201cTomorrow he will undergo further tests on his brain function and his family will determine what\u2019s best from there<\/strong>. We appreciate your prayers and support.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Well, the results of those tests have now come back, and it\u2019s \u201cnot good,\u201d as sources put it bluntly to TMZ<\/em>.<\/p>\n

According to the docs, the tests showed no improvement whatsoever \u2014 meaning he has not regained any brain function nearly a full week after the OD. That\u2019s a pretty strong sign the rapper will remain in what\u2019s been described as a \u201cvegetative state\u201d \u2014 requiring life support just to breathe \u2014 permanently.<\/p>\n

That puts his family in a horrible position. The next step is likely the decision on whether to turn off the life support. If X doesn\u2019t have a living will, which it appears he doesn\u2019t, it will be up to his next of kin.<\/p>\n

TMZ<\/em> also reports the family has asked Rifkind to fly to New York on Friday, something that certainly could be taken as a sign they\u2019re looking to make the decision in the most informed way possible \u2014 by asking his manager and longtime friend.<\/p>\n

Still, it\u2019s a decision no one should ever have to make\u2026<\/p>\n

The Slippin\u2019<\/em> vocalist\u2019s relatives have been able to visit him at the hospital. Several of the hip hop star\u2019s 15 children have already arrived to \u201csay their last goodbye.\u201d He was also visited by members of the Ruff Ryders biker gang, who celebrated him and his music from outside the hospital.<\/p>\n
