It is currently sitting at 0.0359 BTC. <\/p>\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/s3.cointelegraph.com\/uploads\/2021-04\/05543d90-85b4-40f0-bc23-474b46e43061.png\"><figcaption style=\"text-align: center;\">ETH price in terms of BTC. Source: <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.tradingview.com\/chart\/ZbzT7Ipj\/\">Trading View<\/a><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Bitcoiners weren\u2019t pleased with Pal\u2019s interpretation of events, with Craig Wright antagonist, Arthur van Pelt,\u00a0<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/MyLegacyKit\/status\/1379786296734973952?s=20\">arguing<\/a> Ethereum has outlived its early hype and that since the 2017 bull run \u201cit\u2019s down 77% and on a long term decline. Cold hard facts.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In response, Raoul <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/RaoulGMI\/status\/1379790707750268929?s=20\">remarked<\/a> \u201cSince this halving cycle started, it\u2019s up over 100%. Cold hard facts.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>Fund strategist and Bitcoin advocate Brad Mills took issue with the comparison itself, asserting the logic underpinning the analysis is flawed as it does not offer a\u00a0comparison between the currencies since their respective beginnings.<\/p>\n<p>On-chain analyst Willy Woo <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/woonomic\/status\/1380004281818865666?s=20\">suggested<\/a> that Ethereum\u2019s price rise was simply the initial hype cycle playing out and that ETH has little potential for future price increases. The first four-year cycle of any coin, he explained, \u201cis its highest climber,\u201d <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/woonomic\/status\/1380005278133854210?s=20\">adding<\/a> that ETH will likely just oscillate around Bitcoin\u2019s price from here on, and it\u2019s time to move on from it:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cYou may as well just leverage BTC now that we are in 2021 with well developed extremely liquid derivative markets.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>There&#8217;s more riding on this debate about ETH&#8217;s rise in BTC terms than just pride. In November last year What Bitcoin Did podcaster Peter McCormack <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/PeterMcCormack\/status\/1333368736011653121?s=20\">challenged<\/a> Pal to a bet, taking the position that BTC will be up against ETH after one year.
