But where is it usually located? Let\u2019s find out.<\/p>\n<h2 role=\"heading\" aria-level=\"2\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"The_Default_Photos_Library_Location\"><\/span>The Default Photos Library Location<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>By default, your Photos library is a file named <code>Photos Library.photoslibrary<\/code>, and it\u2019s located in the path <code>\/Users\/[username]\/Pictures<\/code> (or <code>~\/Pictures<\/code> for short) where \u201c[username]\u201d is your short user account name.<\/p>\n<p>To get there quickly, open Finder and click \u201cGo\u201d in the menu bar, then select \u201cGo to Folder\u201d in the menu that pops up. In that case, there\u2019s a quick way to find it. You\u2019ll see the path to the Photos Library currently in use listed there.
