Each tower has <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/wnshaw.com\/how-windmills-generate-energy\/\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\">two or three enormous blades<\/a> that, when moved by the wind, turn a rotor, which spins a turbine and generates electricity.<\/p>\n<p>Right now, electric cars are the best option for someone looking for an eco-friendly car, but unless your home runs on wind or solar energy, you\u2019re still contributing to climate change by utilizing power generated by burning fossil fuels.<\/p>\n<p>As we start to make the transition to green energy, this concern will fade away. It\u2019s not the kind of thing you\u2019d see driving down the highway, but it does prove the point that wind-powered vehicles are possible.<\/p>\n<p>Toyota and Lotus are among those trying to translate wind power into a more viable option for the everyday driver. Not only can it <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.windpowermonthly.com\/article\/1431450\/road-wind-powered-car\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\">combine wind power and hydrogen<\/a>, but the hydrogen to power the fuel cell can be generated with wind power.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s probably one of the cleanest and greenest cars in the world right now. Unfortunately, there\u2019s only a few thousand currently on the roads around the world, but they\u2019re a fantastic proof of concept.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Are_Wind-Powered_Cars_on_the_Horizon\"><\/span>Are Wind-Powered Cars on the Horizon?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>A lot of the technology that we take for granted today was science fiction a few decades ago. Are wind-powered cars on the horizon?
