{"id":223088,"date":"2021-04-09T16:11:25","date_gmt":"2021-04-09T13:11:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/en.buradabiliyorum.com\/frank-of-ireland-is-a-live-action-beavis-and-butt-head\/"},"modified":"2021-04-09T16:11:25","modified_gmt":"2021-04-09T13:11:25","slug":"frank-of-ireland-is-a-live-action-beavis-and-butt-head","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/frank-of-ireland-is-a-live-action-beavis-and-butt-head\/","title":{"rendered":"#&#8217;Frank of Ireland&#8217; is a live-action &#8216;Beavis and Butt-Head&#8217;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&#8220;<strong>#&#8217;Frank of Ireland&#8217; is a live-action &#8216;Beavis and Butt-Head&#8217;<\/strong>&#8221;<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>\u201cFrank of Ireland,\u201d starring Dublin-born actor brothers Domhnall and Brian Gleeson, is a hit-or-miss affair.<\/p>\n<p>The six-episode, half-hour comedy <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/watch-movies-tv-seriess\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"8\" title=\"Watch Movies &amp; TV Series\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">series<\/a>, <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Frank-of-Ireland-Season-1\/dp\/B08ZDSVH1T?tag=nypost-20\">premiering April 16 on Amazon<\/a>, has some funny moments while sometimes veering into a live-action, sophomoric take on dim-bulb pals \u201cBeavis and Butt-Head.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>Younger brother Brian takes the lead here as 32-year-old man-child Frank Marron, who\u2019s still living at home in suburban Dublin with his randy mother, Mary (Pom Boyd), who\u2019s both critical of, and in sync with, her son\u2019s temperament and sense of humor. They feed off of each other, though neither would readily admit that.<\/p>\n<p>Frank fancies himself as a singer\/songwriter (he\u2019s working on a \u201cconcept album\u201d with songs titled after every county in Ireland \u2014 but has gotten no further). He still holds a flame for his ex, Aine (Sarah Greene); they broke up six years ago and she claims to have moved on, despite occasionally finding comfort in Frank\u2019s bed.<\/p>\n<p>His aptly-named best pal\/sidekick, Doofus (Domhnall), works at the local supermarket and worships the ground on which Frank walks, often to his detriment. He\u2019s <em>thisclose<\/em> to a caricature but, on occasion, is insightful about his life and his simpatico relationship with Frank, even when their friendship is tested. (Doofus is Beavis to Frank\u2019s Butt-Head.) They\u2019re no rookies in front of the camera, with years of experience between them, including Domhnall\u2019s two \u201cHarry Potter\u201d and \u201cStar Wars\u201d movies (as Bill Weasley and Gen. It\u2019s a pleasant enough diversion and each episode flows into the next smoothly \u2014 so you won\u2019t feel like you\u2019re wasting your time in following the lowbrow antics of two guys you would likely steer clear of in real life.<\/p><\/div>\n<blockquote><p><strong><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">If you liked the article, do not forget to share it with your friends.
