You can hear the rebooted\u00a0<em>Mortal Kombat<\/em> theme below.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Mortal_Kombat_Reboot_Theme\"><\/span><strong>Mortal Kombat Reboot Theme<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Mortal Kombat Official Soundtrack | Techno Syndrome 2021 - Benjamin Wallfisch | WaterTower\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/N7XvA9gOCxQ?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><br \/>\n<!-- SlashFilm_300x250_In_Post -->Released in 1994,\u00a0<em>Mortal Kombat: The Album<\/em> featured music from the video <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/game\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"7\" title=\"Game\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">game<\/a> composed by\u00a0The Immortals, a band that featured\u00a0Belgian electronic musicians Maurice \u201cPraga Khan\u201d Engelen and Olivier Adams. The band was technically a side project created specifically for the game, but the music became a big hit, especially after the theme\u00a0\u201cTechno Syndrome (Mortal Kombat)\u201d ended up in the 1995\u00a0<em>Mortal Kombat<\/em> movie. Now, the theme has been recreated by\u00a0Benjamin Wallfisch, who is handling the soundtrack for the new\u00a0<em>Mortal Kombat<\/em> movie. The new version, titled \u201cTechno Syndrome 2021 (Mortal\u00a0Kombat),\u201d\u00a0 is above, and for comparison\u2019s sake, here\u2019s the version used in the 1995 movie.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Archive: The Immortals - Techno Syndrome (Mortal Kombat)\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/aidem5-kheE?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>I like a lot of\u00a0Wallfisch\u2019s work (he scored\u00a0<em>IT<\/em>,\u00a0<em>IT Chapter 2<\/em>, and worked on\u00a0<em>Blade Runner: 2049<\/em> with Hans Zimmer), but I have to say: I\u2019m not a big fan of the rebooted theme. I\u2019m not a big techno fan in <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/general\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"3\" title=\"General\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">general<\/a>, but I love how loud and unrelenting the original theme is, while this new version comes across as strangely lacking. Back in the \u201990s, the original theme made me want to run around punching and kicking the air. This new theme barely gets a head-bob out of me. It\u2019s a touch disappointing, but maybe it\u2019ll work better in the context of the film.<\/p>\n<p>WaterTower Music will release the new\u00a0<em>Mortal Kombat<\/em> soundtrack on April 16. The notes for the album call this new version of \u201cTechno Syndrome\u201d \u201ccomposer Benjamin Wallfisch\u2019s musical homage to the music, fans, and enduring lineage of Mortal Kombat.\u201d The track was produced and performed by Wallfisch and mixed and mastered by\u00a0Tom Norris.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen I was invited to come on board <em>Mortal Kombat<\/em>, I was very aware of the responsibility that comes with scoring a franchise so deeply embedded in pop culture and with such a passionate fanbase,\u201d Wallfisch said. \u201cMy first question was what can we do with <em>Techno Syndrome<\/em>, a piece of music so much part of the DNA of the game and the original <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/watch-movies-tv-seriess\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"8\" title=\"Watch Movies &amp; TV Series\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">movies<\/a>? What motifs could be reinvented and blown up to a full-scale symphonic sound world in the score, and might there be room for a full reinvention of the whole song as an EDM single in 2021? A huge thank you to The Immortals for giving us their blessing to reimagine their classic track in this way, as a celebration of the world of Mortal Kombat and its fans, and of the uplifting power of Electronic Dance Music, which the original did so much to light the fuse of 30 years ago.\u201d<br \/>\n<!-- SlashFilm_300x250_In_Post_2 -->Director <strong>Simon McQuoid<\/strong> added: \u201cBen and I both knew that we needed to use the classic Immortals track \u2018Techno Syndrome\u2019 as source material for the entire score of \u2018Mortal Kombat.\u2019 But along with that, we knew that an updated, elevated version of the song also needed to be created, and Ben certainly delivered. I am so excited by this new 2021 version of the track; when I first heard it, it blew my mind.
