A spokesperson from the company told Cointelegraph that no customer data has been jeopardized, however.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur customers\u2019 data has not been compromised in any way,\u201d said the spokesperson on Friday. \u201cThere has been no data breach of the Paxful platform,\u201d they noted, adding:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cThe employee data that the person claims to have was obtained illegally from a third party supplier that Paxful previously used; Paxful terminated its contract with this supplier in September 2020. We have taken measures to ensure that our employees are not impacted by this event and we\u2019re continuing to actively monitor the situation as a precautionary measure.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>On Friday, someone <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/t.me\/dataleak\/2161\">posted<\/a>\u00a0a message in a Russian-language Telegram channel titled <em>Information leaks\u00a0<\/em>that read, &#8220;A dump of the database of registered users and employees of the paxful.com P2P cryptocurrency trading platform has been put up for sale on the English-speaking shadow forum.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The post noted phone numbers, names and addresses, as well as other private information, supposedly were <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>rehended and made available for purchase as part of a \u201cdump\u201d that purportedly boasted more than \u201c4.8 million entries.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Hacks and data leaks are unfortunately not uncommon in a world growing more accustomed to <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/technology\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"4\" title=\"Technology\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">technology<\/a>. <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Facebook<\/a> recently suffered a hack which compromised data of more than 500,000 customers. Millions were <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ftc.gov\/enforcement\/cases-proceedings\/refunds\/equifax-data-breach-settlement\">affected<\/a> by the notorious Equifax leak of 2017.
