{"id":223498,"date":"2021-04-10T00:20:57","date_gmt":"2021-04-09T21:20:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/en.buradabiliyorum.com\/doe-not-tracking-remote-kids-learning-from-out-of-town\/"},"modified":"2021-04-10T00:20:57","modified_gmt":"2021-04-09T21:20:57","slug":"doe-not-tracking-remote-kids-learning-from-out-of-town","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/doe-not-tracking-remote-kids-learning-from-out-of-town\/","title":{"rendered":"#DOE not tracking remote kids learning from out of town"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&#8220;<strong>#DOE not tracking remote kids learning from out of town<\/strong>&#8221;<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>The Department of Education isn\u2019t tracking how many remote learners are living out of town \u2014 and one city official wants answers.<\/p>\n<p>Arguing that they shouldn\u2019t occupy spots in DOE schools, Queens City Councilman Robert Holden asked City Hall for an accounting of the issue this week.<\/p>\n<p>Holden said the practice is \u201cmore prevalent\u201d than is <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/general\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"3\" title=\"General\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">general<\/a>ly acknowledged in a letter to Mayor Bill de Blasio this week.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPlease inform\u00a0the public about the mechanisms in place to confirm that students who opted for remote learning are still residents of New York City and the school district\u00a0they are claiming,\u201d Holden wrote.<\/p>\n<p>A spokesman for Holden said that coveted seats in his district \u2013 including Gifted &amp;
