An online game<\/a>r successfully pretended to be a\u00a0White House\u00a0reporter and\u00a0even managed to pose\u00a0questions to\u00a0President Biden\u2019s press secretary,\u00a0according to a new report.\u00a0<\/p>\n

A person who created an online profile as \u201cKacey \u2018Lego\u2019 Montagu\u201d and presented herself as a correspondent for the fictitious \u201cWhite House News<\/a>\u201d duped legitimate members of the White House press corps into asking her questions at briefings at least four times, according\u00a0to a report from Politico<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The imposter is believed to be active in the online global gaming platform called ROBLOX, where users jokingly call themselves \u201cLegos.\u201d The person didn\u2019t reveal his or her true identity when reached by Politico but expressed frustration with how the real press is asking questions.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cI love journalism, and I think the press corps is doing a pretty bad job at the moment, so I decided I would ensure some transparency and ask some questions me and some friends wanted the answer to,\u201d Montagu\u00a0told the outlet.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Access to the White House press briefing room is limited to credentialed reporters. Capacity at the daily briefings has been further restricted during the\u00a0coronavirus\u00a0pandemic due to social<\/a> distancing guidelines.<\/p>\n

So, it\u2019s been fairly common for reporters to ask additional questions to Press Secretary Jen\u00a0Psaki on behalf of fellow journalists who couldn\u2019t attend the briefing due to coronavirus restrictions.<\/p>\n

Montagu contacted credentialed press\u00a0to pose her questions in the briefing room and reporters at outlets including\u00a0The Plain Dealer, CQ Roll Call and the Washington Blade relayed\u00a0them to Psaki.<\/p>\n

Questions were on\u00a0Covid-19 travel<\/a> bans, ambassadorships, Biden\u2019s reaction to Microsoft being hacked and most recently about\u00a0Biden\u2019s relationship with former President Barack Obama.<\/p>\n

Another question \u201cMontagu\u201d wanted asked was about\u00a0transparency in the Biden administration. That question was never posed\u00a0by the reporter who received the request.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cRecently the White House has had read outs of calls and has the name of the people saying \u2018Senior Administration official\u2019 so why isn\u2019t the White House releasing the names of people in the calls, making these comments so that they can be held accountable to the American people?\u201d\u00a0Montagu wrote to a journalist in the briefing room.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The White House Correspondents\u2019 Association is in charge of seating and access to the White House briefing room and workspaces.\u00a0The members-only group did not immediately respond to Fox News\u2019 request for comment about the fake reporter.\n <\/p><\/div>\n
