\n Oprah Winfrey will lead a conversation with black thought leaders, activists and artists next week called \u201cOWN Spotlight: Where Do We Go From Here?\u201d Variety reports. The two-night special will air on the host\u2019s OWN channel on June 9 and 10 at 9 p.m. ET and will also be simulcast across the network\u2019s parent company Discovery\u2019s 18 other networks.<\/p>\n

The special comes in the wake of George Floyd\u2019s killing by a Minneapolis police officer on May 25th and the ensuing protests against systemic racism and police brutality that have followed throughout the country since.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve been having private conversations with friends and thought leaders about what\u2019s next and where we go from here,\u201d Winfrey said in a statement via Variety. \u201cI thought it would be both of interest and service to bring their ideas, concerns and comments into a national spotlight.\u201d<\/p>\n

Politician\u00a0Stacey Abrams,\u00a0journalist\u00a0Charles M. Blow,\u00a0Atlanta\u00a0Mayor\u00a0Keisha Lance Bottoms, filmmaker\u00a0Ava DuVernay,\u00a0professor\u00a0and author\u00a0Jennifer Eberhardt,\u00a0journalist and founder of the\u00a0\u201c1619 Project\u201d\u00a0Nikole Hannah-Jones,\u00a0historian and author\u00a0Ibram Kendi,\u00a0actor\u00a0David Oyelowo,\u00a0Color of Change founder\u00a0Rashad Robinson\u00a0and NAACP national board member\u00a0Rev. Dr. William J. Barber II are among the guests who will participate in the conversation.\n <\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
