Every year, the fellowship celebrates 10 university and college educators who show leadership in enhancing post-secondary education and a sustained dedication to undergraduate education. Winners become lifetime members of the society, a national organization working to advance teaching and learning in higher education.<\/p>\n<p>As the program\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">media<\/a> sponsor since 2006, Maclean\u2019s is pleased to announce the 2021 Fellows. Below, STLHE\u2019s selection committee explains why these 10 professors are being recognized this year.<\/p>\n<hr\/>\n<div class=\"rdm-gallery\" data-gallerytitle=\"3m-teaching-fellows\" data-gallery-id=\"1606\" data-gallery-loaded=\"false\" data-gallery-total-slides=\"10\">\n<p>    3M teaching fellows<\/p>\n<div class=\"rdm-gallery-container gallery-slide-container\" data-mobile-ad-frequency=\"3\">\n<div class=\"gallery-slide-content-container\" data-currentslide=\"1\">\n<div class=\"gallery-slide-content alignment-left\">\n                <img decoding=\"async\" data-sizes=\"auto\" alt=\"Ann Braithwaite\" src=\"https:\/\/www.macleans.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/ANN-BRAITHWAITE-3M-TEACHING-FELLOW-DWYER-APRIL06-573x1000.jpg\"\/><\/div>\n<div class=\"gallery-slide-information-container\">\n<h2 class=\"slide-title\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Ann_Braithwaite\"><\/span>Ann Braithwaite<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<div class=\"gallery-slide-information-slide-description\"><em>Diversity and Social Justice Studies, University of Prince Edward Island<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The only full-time faculty member in her department, Ann Braithwaite has grown her program from a minor in women\u2019s studies to a thriving and innovative major in diversity and social justice studies. Her influence has shaped\u00a0women\u2019s and gender studies at universities across North America, both through her co-written textbook that radically redefines how we think about teaching introductory courses and as a highly sought-after reviewer for programs that want to redefine their curriculum. Both at her own university and beyond, she publishes, presents and gives workshops on rethinking the arts, decolonizing the curriculum and\u00a0embedding good principles for equity, diversity, and inclusion in our classrooms.<\/p>\n<p>Her courses have inviting and challenging titles such as \u201cIdentities and Place,\u201d \u201cLove and Labour,\u201d \u201cMonsters, Freaks, Zombies, and Cyborgs,\u201d \u201cRace and Whiteness.\u201d Students complete \u201cselfie projects\u201d that ask them to reflect on the connection between identity and place; later in their academic careers, they design and give workshops for government employees on accessibility\u00a0or research and design their own course outlines. Her students\u00a0are true partners in knowledge creation.
