\nJoseph Siravo<\/strong>, known for his role as Tony Soprano\u2019s ruthless dad on The Sopranos<\/em>, died on Sunday at 64 years old. The actor had been battling cancer since 2017 when he was diagnosed with stage 4 prostate cancer. In 2019, he shared his story with NYU Langone Health<\/strong>, revealing he was also diagnosed with color cancer and had part of his colon removed.<\/p>\n

According to the BBC<\/em>, his daughter Allegra Okarmus<\/strong> announced the sad news<\/a> on her Instagram<\/strong> Sunday, writing:<\/p>\n

\u201cI was by his side when my dear father passed away this morning, peacefully, in his beloved Treehouse. We are both so lucky to be so intensely loved. I am so immensely grateful to have had him here on earth and I know that he hasn\u2019t gone very far.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

The Washington DC born performer was best known for his app<\/a>earances as Johnny Soprano in the show\u2019s 1960s flashbacks. He also held an impressive Broadway<\/strong> track record. Beginning in 2006, he performed in 2,000 runs of Jersey Boys<\/em> during the musical\u2019s first US tour. He was also in Tony<\/strong>-winning shows\u00a0Oslo<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0The Light in the Piazza<\/em>. Recent TV fans may remember the creative from ABC<\/strong>\u2019s For Life<\/em> Or Amazon<\/strong>\u2019s Adam Driver<\/strong> film The Report<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Many fans, friends, and co-stars have flocked to social media<\/a> to say their goodbyes and wish his family their condolences, including Sopranos<\/em> alum Michael Imperioli<\/strong>. The actor who played Christopher Moltisanti\u00a0in the HBO<\/strong> drama shared:<\/p>\n

\u201cJoe was an excellent actor and a wonderful guy and he will be missed dearly. His performance of Johnny Boy Soprano was spot on and he also made a perfect John Gotti in Nick Sandow<\/strong>\u2019s \u2018The Wannabe\u2019. In my opinion he was the best of all the actors who\u2019ve played the Teflon Don. Farewell Joe. Until the next life my friend.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Garry Pastore<\/strong>, a producer, actor, and stuntman, added:<\/p>\n

\u201cRIP my dear friend, who fought an incredible fight. I will miss you. See you on the other side.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
