The Chicken Squad<\/i> is coming soon to Disney Junior, and the cable channel for kids has released a preview for the new animated series. The show is based on the popular children\u2019s books by Doreen Cronin.<\/p>\n

The regular voice cast includes Ramone Hamilton, Maxwell Simkins, Gabriella Graves, Yvette Nicole Brown, Ramone Hamilton, Gabriella Graves, and Maxwell Simkins. Recurring actors include Tony Hale, Jane Lynch, Melissa Rauch, Sean Giambrone, Malcolm-Jamal Warner, Melissa Villase\u00f1or, and Zack Pearlman.<\/p>\n

Disney Junior revealed more about The Chicken Squad<\/em> in a press release.<\/p>\n

\u201cDisney Junior\u2019s egg-citing new animated comedy-adventure series The Chicken Squad<\/i> premieres FRIDAY, MAY 14 (7:30 P.M. EDT\/PDT)<\/b>, with two back-to-back episodes on Disney Junior and DisneyNOW. Inspired by Doreen Cronin\u2019s popular children\u2019s books, the series follows a trio of young chicken siblings \u2013 Coop, Sweetie and Little Boo \u2013 and their retired search and rescue dog mentor, Captain Tully. Together, they team up on problem-solving adventures in their backyard to help their animal friends, while modeling what it means to be good community helpers and finding the joy in assisting others. A digital soundtrack, \u201cDisney Junior Music: The Chicken Squad,\u201d featuring the theme<\/a> song and music from the series is also set for release Friday, May 14, on Walt Disney Records.<\/p>\n

Joining the previously announced lead voice cast \u2013 Yvette Nicole Brown (Captain Tully), Ramone Hamilton (Coop), Gabriella Graves (Sweetie) and Maxwell Simkins (Little Boo) \u2013 the recurring guest voice cast includes Tony Hale (Disney+\u2019s upcoming The Mysterious Benedict Society<\/i>) as Frazz, a nervous squirrel; Jane Lynch (Glee<\/i>) as Dr. Dirt, a forensic scientist snail; Melissa Rauch (The Big Bang Theory<\/i>) as Dinah, the chicks\u2019 mother; Sean Giambrone (The Goldbergs<\/i>) as Riley, a gruff pack rat; Malcolm-Jamal Warner (The Resident<\/i>) as Lt. Scruffy, a retired firehouse dog; and Melissa Villase\u00f1or (\u201cSaturday Night Live\u201d) and Zack Pearlman (Dragons: Race to the Edge<\/i>) as Wheeze and Snick, mischievous raccoon siblings. The guest voice cast for season one includes Rachel Bloom (Crazy Ex-Girlfriend<\/i>) and Chrissie Fit (Pitch Perfect<\/i> franchise) as Rebeecca, a nervous honeybee, and Quilla, a friendly porcupine, respectively.<\/p>\n

Whether rescuing a stranded puppy from a creek, helping a bird track down its missing food, or solving the mystery of how their mom\u2019s prized flowers got trampled, the Chicken Squad is always ready to lend a helping wing. Each episode, comprised of two 11-minute stories, features the recurring \u201cChicken Charge\u201d anthem that the chickens sing upon determination of a new mission and at least one new original song that showcases a variety of musical styles ranging from pop and R&B to country, hip-hop and electronic.<\/p>\n

The Chicken Squad<\/i> was developed and is executive produced by Emmy(R) Award winner Tom Rogers (Elena of Avalor<\/i>). Humanitas Prize and Emmy Award winner Rachel Ruderman (Sofia the First<\/i>) is co-producer and story editor; Tony Trujillo (\u201cFarmVille 2\u201d) is art director; and Emmy Award-nominated Elliot M. Bour (Elena of Avalor<\/i>) and Scott Bern (\u201cPuppy Dog Pals\u201d) are supervising directors.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
