“#Michael Cera’s TV Return Set for Amy Schumer’s ‘Life & Beth’ on Hulu<\/strong>”<\/p>\n

Michael Cera<\/a> has joined the cast of Amy Schumer<\/a>\u2018s comedy, Life & Beth<\/em>, on Hulu.<\/p>\n

Cera will star as a farmer and chef, John, according to The Hollywood Reporter<\/em><\/a>. He \u201cis always honest and to the point,\u201d his character descript<\/a>ion reads.<\/p>\n

\u201cWoot woot,\u201d Schumer wrote on Instagram<\/a> while sharing the news<\/a>.<\/p>\n

In Life & Beth<\/em>, Schumer plays Beth, whose life may seem great on paper but that isn\u2019t necessarily the case. While she works as a wine distributor, lives in Manhattan, and is in a long-term relationship with an attractive, successful guy, she must face her past after \u201ca sudden incident,\u201d according to the logline from Hulu. Then, \u201cher life changes forever.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThrough flashbacks to her teen self, Beth starts to learn how she became who she is and who she wants to become,\u201d the description continues. \u201cWe\u2019ll go on her journey toward building a more authentic life. Learning to express herself and living in an intentional way. A trip<\/a> down memory lane is a strong source of trauma, comedy and moving forward.\u201d<\/p>\n

The streaming service announced the 10-episode comedy back in July 2019<\/em>, when it was called Love, Beth<\/em>.<\/p>\n

In June 2020, Schumer, who, in addition to starring, serves as writer, director, and executive producer on the comedy, called it \u201chilarious, raw, and very me,\u201d as part of the Hulu Newfront presentation. \u201cAbout three years ago, I found my journals from growing up, from age 13-21\u2026 And it made me remember the time when I had all this confidence and life was fun and full of possibility,\u201d she said. \u201cSo, I really wanted to make a show about a woman who blows her whole life up and returns to the things that really make her happy.\u201d<\/p>\n

Kevin Kane, Daniel Powell, and Ryan McFaul also executive produce.<\/p>\n

Cera\u2019s series<\/a> regular role in Life & Beth<\/em> is his first since Arrested Development<\/em><\/a>, which aired three seasons on Fox, from 2003 to 2006, before moving to Netflix. His other TV credits include Medical Police<\/em><\/a>, Twin Peaks<\/em><\/a>, and Drunk History<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n
