“#Original ‘Tiger Mom’ bares claws at Yale over allegations<\/strong>”<\/p>\n

The original \u201cTiger Mom\u201d is baring her claws at Yale University \u2014 after it yanked a position from the law professor for allegedly holding boozy parties with students at her Connecticut home.<\/p>\n

Amy Chua \u2014 who famously wrote \u201cBattle Hymn of the Tiger Mother\u201d touting tough-love Chinese parenting in 2011 \u2014 suggests in a bizarre, fiery, three-page open letter <\/a>to her Yale colleagues that she is being targeted by students \u201cwho oppose \u2018controversial opinions\u2019 I\u2019ve expressed.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Yale Law School professor had initially lost the privilege of overseeing a small group of first-year students outside class in 2019, according to the Yale Daily News.<\/a><\/p>\n

That\u2019s because some alumni alleged to university officials at the time that Chua had been drinking with students at dinner parties at her house, the News<\/a> said.<\/p>\n

Chua, 58, lives with hubby and former Yale Law School Professor Jed Rubenfeld, who is currently suspended from his job after allegations of unwanted touching and kissing involving students, the News said.<\/a><\/p>\n

Chua was then allowed to pick up a position again as head of one of these small groups \u2014 which are considered vital to students in terms of mentoring and future job connections \u2014 this past March 22, the outlet said.<\/p>\n

But new complaints surfaced before the week was out that the famous professor was continuing to host student dinner parties where there was alcohol \u2014 and Chua again lost her mentoring post, the Yale Daily News said.<\/p>\n

Chua fired back in the letter to Yale staffers last week that the allegations were \u201cso out of sync with the truth I don\u2019t know where to begin.\u201d<\/p>\n

She said she was blindsided when a Yale Daily News reporter told her she had lost her small-group position again.<\/p>\n

Chua included in her missive at least part of an e-mail she app<\/a>arently wrote to Yale Law School Dean Heather Gerken saying, \u201cHeather, I am so upset by this!<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is totally false and I feel like I\u2019m being bullied!\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cHow did they get all this information. And why am I the last person to find out about the small group, which I didn\u2019t want to teach anyway!? What should I say to this reporter? Will the school stand by me?\u201d<\/p>\n

Chua said that during a Zoom call with \u201cHeather\u2019\u201d and another administrator that night, she \u201cwas treated absolutely degradingly, like a criminal.\u201d<\/p>\n

Chua denied holding any inappropriate \u201cparties\u201d with her students at her home.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs I wrack my brain to try to imagine what \u2018dinner parties\u2019 with students they could possibly be referring to, I can only think of a few possibilities \u2014 all of which I not only stand by, but am proud of,\u201d she wrote.<\/p>\n

Chua said she hosted students at times who were in \u201cextreme distress\u201d \u2014 and for her caring response, she is \u201cbeing punished and publicly humiliated without anything remotely resembling due process.\u201d<\/p>\n

According to her letter, Chua is demanding \u201can outside investigation into the disclosure of confidential and private personnel information about me.\u201d\n <\/p><\/div>\n
