Bullion is often viewed as a hedge against inflation. <\/p>\n<p> June gold<br \/>\n        GC00,<br \/>\n        <bg-quote field=\"percentchange\" format=\"0,000.00%\" channel=\"\/zigman2\/quotes\/210034565\/delayed\" class=\"positive\">+0.55%<\/bg-quote><\/p>\n<p>        GCM21,<br \/>\n        <bg-quote field=\"percentchange\" format=\"0,000.00%\" channel=\"\/zigman2\/quotes\/210036734\/delayed\" class=\"positive\">+0.55%<\/bg-quote><br \/>\n      \u00a0rose $7.10, or 0.4%, at $1,739.70 an ounce, after the precious metal logged the lowest finish for a most-active contract since April 5, FactSet data show.<\/p>\n<div class=\"paywall\">\n       The consumer-price index jumped 0.6% in March,\u00a0<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.bls.gov\/news.release\/cpi.nr0.htm\" class=\"icon none\">the government said Tuesday<\/a>, spearheaded by the rising cost of oil. Economists polled by Dow Jones and The Wall Street Journal had forecast a 0.5% increase in the CPI.  The 12-month rate of inflation rose to 2.6% in March from 1.7%.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cInflation will probably pick up further and the numbers for the next few months may <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>ear abnormally large as base effects from the 2020 lockdowns skew the data,\u201d wrote Fawad Razaqzada, market analyst at ThinkMarkets, referring to distortions in monthly inflation figure that results from abnormally high or low levels in the year-ago period. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Fed expects inflation to then settle down after a temporary acceleration. However, the key risk is if their assumption turns out to be wrong, and price pressures remain elevated. In fact, with consumers\u2019 inflation expectations rising, this is could translate to actual rise in price levels,\u201d he said. <\/p>\n<p>The move for gold on the session thus far also comes as bond yields, which compete against gold for haven demand, were little changed after the inflation data. <\/p>\n<p>The 10-year Treasury note<br \/>\n        TMUBMUSD10Y,<br \/>\n        <bg-quote field=\"percentchange\" format=\"0,000.000%\" channel=\"\" class=\"\">1.666%<\/bg-quote><br \/>\n       was down 0.5 basis point at around 1.67% after CPI.
