\n Add Sin City to the list of potential landing spots for former No. 1 overall pick, Jadeveon Clowney.<\/p>\n

According to Cecil Lammey of 1043 The Fan, the Las Vegas Raiders have extended an offer to the 27-year-old defensive end, noting that head coach Jon Gruden \u201creally wants him,\u201d and \u201cwould like to up the offer.\u201d<\/p>\n

Lammey added in spite of Gruden\u2019s infatuation, owner Mark Davis and general<\/a> manager Mike Mayock \u201care standing pat (for now).\u201d<\/p>\n

Cash will likely be the sticking point during negotiations, as Clowney is reportedly seeking a massive payday of $21 million per year, which would put him on par with former Raiders edge rusher, Khalil Mack.<\/p>\n

Since Mack\u2019s departure, Gruden has made some head-scratching comments about how \u201chard [it is] to find a great pass-rusher\u201d as the team looks to fill that roster gap. The Pro Bowl lineman was traded after he and the team were unable to reach an agreement on a long-term deal ahead of the 2018 season. He signed a six-year, $141 million deal with the Bears after being dealt to Chicago.<\/p>\n

Since entering the league as the top pick in the 2014 NFL Draft, Clowney has dealt with a slew of injuries, playing in all 16 game<\/a>s just once. Last season, the South Carolina product recorded three sacks, 21 tackles and four forced fumbles in 13 games for the Seahawks.<\/p>\n

The freakishly athletic Clowney is currently recovering from core muscle and sports hernia surgery he underwent in February.<\/p>\n

The Raiders are the latest entrants to the Clowney free-agency sweepstakes, which have included rejected offers from the Seahawks, Dolphins and Browns. In spite of a risky injury history and a spotty showing in 2019, he is widely regarded as the league\u2019s top available free agent and has been discussed as a potential \u2014 albeit unlikely \u2014 target for both the Giants and Jets.<\/p>\n
