Mayoral hopeful Andrew Yang was heckled and called \u201cpro-cop\u201d during a Tuesday night New York City bike ride protest into the police killing of Daunte Wright.<\/p>\n

The Democratic candidate rode with roughly 150 cyclists from the Barclays Center into Lower Manhattan via the Brooklyn Bridge before he was confronted.<\/p>\n

\u201cDo not use our protest for your publicity,\u201d a woman told Yang through a megaphone when the group stopped in Battery Park at about 7:50 p.m<\/p>\n

\u201cWe don\u2019t want you here. You\u2019re pro-cop,\u201d the woman said, according to footage of the encounter obtained by The Post.<\/p>\n

Several members of the demonstration, which had thinned out by that time, then chanted \u201cshame,\u201d at Yang as he rode away.<\/p>\n

Last month, Yang called for more funding for the NYPD\u2019s Asian Hate Crimes Task Force amid a spate of violence against the vulnerable community.<\/p>\n

Yang\u2019s statement, made during a rally against anti-Asian attacks in Chinatown, was initially met with app<\/a>lause \u2014 but others in the crowd then booed and chanted \u201cDefund the police,\u201d according to videos shared from the scene.<\/p>\n
