It is extremely important to suppress the pool of people that can be susceptible to the virus,\u201d Bourla said during a virtual event hosted by\u00a0CVS Health\u00a0Corp.<br \/>\n        CVS,<br \/>\n        <bg-quote field=\"percentchange\" format=\"0,000.00%\" channel=\"\/zigman2\/quotes\/209664499\/composite\" class=\"positive\">+0.93%<\/bg-quote><br \/>\n      \u00a0that aired Thursday but was recorded April 1.<\/p>\n<div class=\"paywall\">\n<p>\u201cThere are vaccines like polio where one dose is enough,\u201d Bourla said. \u201cAnd there are vaccines like flu that you need every year. The Covid virus looks more like the influenza virus than the polio virus.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>More research is required to confirm the need for annual booster shots, Bourla said. But he added that the need <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>eared likely given research so far.<\/p>\n<p>The chief executive\u2019s comments come as the U.S. and other countries race to vaccinate as many people as possible and\u00a0<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.wsj.com\/articles\/variants-fuel-covid-19-surge-but-scientists-voice-optimism-for-vaccines-11618479003?mod=article_inline\" class=\"icon none\">try to stay ahead of any variants<\/a>\u00a0that could evade the shots.<\/p>\n<p>Researchers still don\u2019t know how long protection lasts from any of the Covid-19 vaccines, although they are studying the issue.
