Redemption is a key word for John Stamos\u2018 Coach Marvyn Korn in the new Disney+ series<\/a>, Big Shot<\/em>, which premieres Friday on the streamer. But will that redemption be a professional one \u2014 Korn was ousted from his college basketball job for throwing a chair that hit a referee \u2014 or more personal? We\u2019ll find out as we follow him in the only job he can get, heading up the basketball team for a California private school for girls.<\/p>\n

To learn more, TV Insider talked to Stamos, who explains he hadn\u2019t realized how much he has in common with the stubborn Korn.<\/p>\n

\u201cI thought I was nothing like this character,\u201d he said. \u201cWhen I read it [I thought,] \u2018I can play this but this is not me.\u2019 But as I\u2019m playing him I\u2019m like, \u2018Maybe this is me? I am stuck in my ways on this and that.\u2019 So as Marvyn\u2019s learning, I think I\u2019m learning as well.\u201d The young girls he\u2019s coaching, he added, are not the only ones who learn lessons in Season 1.
