{"id":229039,"date":"2021-04-16T20:08:13","date_gmt":"2021-04-16T17:08:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/en.buradabiliyorum.com\/astronomers-announce-unprecedented-data-on-famous-supermassive-black-hole\/"},"modified":"2021-04-16T20:08:13","modified_gmt":"2021-04-16T17:08:13","slug":"astronomers-announce-unprecedented-data-on-famous-supermassive-black-hole","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/astronomers-announce-unprecedented-data-on-famous-supermassive-black-hole\/","title":{"rendered":"#Astronomers announce unprecedented data on famous supermassive black hole"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&#8220;<strong>#Astronomers announce unprecedented data on famous supermassive black hole<\/strong>&#8221;<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2021\/04\/m87-black-hole-2.jpg?quality=90&amp;strip=all\" \/><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>New data\u00a0released by a\u00a0team of hundreds of international scientists offers a more comprehensive understanding of the\u00a0supermassive black hole\u00a0at the\u00a0<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/science\/astronomers-capture-new-polarized-view-of-a-black-hole\">heart of the galaxy M87<\/a>\u00a0and the system it powers.<\/p>\n<p>A dramatic video announcing the findings promises \u201cunparalleled insight\u201d into the black hole and suggests that the observations could also help to improve tests of prolific\u00a0<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/category\/science\/natural-science\/math\">mathematician<\/a>\u00a0Albert Einstein\u2019s\u00a0<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/science\/einstein-was-right-again-general-relativity-passes-another-test\">General Theory of Relativity<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In order to measure and observe black hole behavior, researchers gathered information from\u00a019 observatories, using imagery from\u00a0<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/category\/science\/air-and-space\/nasa\">NASA\u2019s<\/a>\u00a0<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/tech\">Hubble Space Telescope (HST)<\/a>,\u00a0<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/chandra.si.edu\/press\/21_releases\/press_041421.html\">Chandra X-ray Observatory<\/a>, the Neil Gehrels Swift Observatory, the Nuclear\u00a0Spectroscopic Telescope Array (NuSTAR), Fermi Gamma-ray Space Telescope and the\u00a0Event Horizon Telescope (EHT).<\/p>\n<p>In 2019, the scientists\u00a0released\u00a0<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/science\/first-ever-black-hole-image-revealed\">the first-ever image<\/a>\u00a0of a black hole\u00a0in the galaxy M87 \u2014 55 million light-years away from\u00a0<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/category\/science\/planet-earth\">Earth<\/a>\u00a0\u2014 using the EHT.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed-twitter wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<div class=\"embed-wrapper twitter\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">\u26abIn 2019, the Event Horizon Telescope released the first direct image of the black hole in galaxy M87. In a quest to learn more, coordinated observations with 19 of the world&#8217;s most powerful telescopes have now collected light from across the spectrum. <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/sIvMHIRqbY\">https:\/\/t.co\/sIvMHIRqbY<\/a> <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/YEjjGMkuPQ\">pic.twitter.com\/YEjjGMkuPQ<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Chandra Observatory (@chandraxray) <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/chandraxray\/status\/1382319729226911745?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">April 14, 2021<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/figure>\n<p>A co-author of a report on the new data sets\u00a0<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/iopscience.iop.org\/article\/10.3847\/2041-8213\/abef71\">published in The Astrophysical Journal Letters<\/a>, the\u00a0National Astronomical Observatory of\u00a0<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/category\/world\/world-regions\/japan\">Japan\u2019s<\/a>\u00a0Kazuhiro Hada, told NASA that the image had informed their work.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe knew that the first direct image of a black hole would be groundbreaking,\u201d he said\u00a0<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nasa.gov\/mission_pages\/chandra\/news\/telescopes-unite-in-unprecedented-observations-of-famous-black-hole.html\">in a Wednesday release<\/a>. \u201cBut to get the most out of this remarkable image, we need to know everything we can about the black hole\u2019s behavior at that time by observing over the entire electromagnetic spectrum.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>For example, the space agency\u00a0<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/science\/nasa-proof-jet-black-hole-early-universe\">said in March<\/a>\u00a0that the Chandra X-ray Observatory had found evidence of a jet of particles coming from a\u00a0fast-growing supermassive black hole.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/category\/science\/air-and-space\/astronomy\">Astronomers<\/a>\u00a0have studied the jets that <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/trip-and-travel\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"10\" title=\"Trip &amp; Travel\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">travel<\/a> at almost the speed of light across vast distances and NASA said that the jets from M87 produce light across the entire electromagnetic spectrum, suggesting that each black hole has a unique pattern based on the intensity of light it produces.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIdentifying this pattern gives crucial insight into a black hole\u2019s properties (for example, its spin and\u00a0<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/category\/science\/planet-earth\/energy\">energy<\/a>\u00a0output), but this is a challenge because the pattern changes with time,\u201d NASA said in the statement.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The various telescopes utilized in this coordinated undertaking help to characterize the black holes and compensate for spectrum variability.<\/p>\n<p>According to NASA, the observations \u2014 made from the end of March to the middle of April 2017 \u2014 mark the largest simultaneous\u00a0observing campaign ever undertaken on a supermassive black hole with jets.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed-youtube wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\">\n<span class=\"embed-youtube\" style=\"text-align:center; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/span>\n<\/p>\n<\/figure>\n<p>\u201cThe combination of data from these telescopes and current (and future) EHT observations, will allow scientists to conduct important lines of investigation into some of astrophysics\u2019 most significant and challenging fields of study,\u201d the agency said, noting that the first results showed the intensity of\u00a0electromagnetic radiation produced by material around M87\u2019s supermassive black hole was the lowest that had ever been witnessed.<\/p>\n<p>This week,\u00a0<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/eventhorizontelescope.org\/array\">EHT array<\/a>\u00a0scientists are<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/eventhorizontelescope.org\/blog\/telescopes-unite-unprecedented-observations-famous-black-hole\">\u00a0looking at the black hole in M87\u00a0once more<\/a>\u00a0as well as several other distant black holes.\u00a0Several radio telescopes have been added to the network since 2017.<\/p>\n<p>Technical issues stymied the 2019 campaign and the 2020 campaign was scr<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp;
