\n From beef bourguignon to beef jerky: Ghislaine Maxwell has traded in her palatial New Hampshire cabin for strip<\/a>ped-down confinement at Brooklyn\u2019s Metropolitan Detention Center.<\/p>\n

The Oxford-educated British social<\/a>ite had been laying low in a million-dollar New Hampshire hideaway featuring a cathedral ceiling, a massive floor-to-ceiling stone fireplace and a gourmet kitchen, according to the home\u2019s listing.<\/p>\n

Jeffrey Epstein\u2019s alleged right-hand woman cooked stews for herself in a kitchen with two ovens, a six-burner stove and a luxury refrigerator.<\/p>\n

Maxwell, 58, on Monday was transferred to the city\u2019s largest federal jail, where she is expected to be kept in a 10-foot-by-12-foot cell.<\/p>\n

The notorious facility is in the midst of a lawsuit that has sounded the alarm over its potential to foster a dangerous coronavirus outbreak. It\u2019s the same facility where officers last month pepper-sprayed inmate Jamel Floyd to death.<\/p>\n

In January of 2019, inmates went freezing for weeks when an electrical fire knocked out power in the building, an environment described as a \u201chumanitarian crisis.\u201d<\/p>\n

Maxwell will be given a T-shirt and other basic clothing at the MDC along with a thin mattress, pillow and blanket. She may be allowed to have an app<\/a>roved religious medallion or book, such as the Bible \u2014 but cannot have any other personal possessions.<\/p>\n

After schmoozing among the global elite, Maxwell has apparently had a difficult time socializing with her fellow inmates. One inmate at a New Hampshire jail where she was briefly held reportedly called her a \u201csnooty b\u2014h.\u201d<\/p>\n

Injuring a high-profile inmate like Maxwell \u201cwould be a badge of honor,\u201d former MDC warden Cameron Lindsay said.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou go from living a life like Maxwell to all of a sudden being in a situation where you\u2019re being strip-searched and having people look into your body cavities,\u201d Lindsay added.\n <\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
