\n Former NBA player Stephen Jackson blasted the Eagles for condemning DeSean Jackson\u2019s anti-Semitic social media<\/a> posts that contained quotes falsely attributed to Adolf Hitler and praise for a political activist notorious for making anti-Semitic remarks.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s speaking the truth,\u201d Stephen Jackson said in a series<\/a> of rants shared to social media. \u201cYou know he don\u2019t hate nobody. But he\u2019s speaking the truth of the facts that he knows, and trying to educate others. But y\u2019all don\u2019t want us to educate ourselves. If this was talking about the black race, y\u2019all ain\u2019t saying nothing about it.\u201d<\/p>\n

DeSean Jackson, the three-time Pro Bowl receiver, over the weekend shared to his 1.4 million Instagram followers quotes falsely attributed to Hitler. The quotes, which the fact-checking site Snopes.com said were bogus, read, \u201cthe white Jews knows that the Negroes are the real Children of Israel,\u201d that they \u201cwill extort America\u201d and that \u201ctheir plan for world domination won\u2019t work if the Negroes know who they were.\u201d<\/p>\n

The 33-year-old DeSean Jackson also praised Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan, a black political activist who \u201croutinely accuses Jews of manipulating the U.S. government and controlling the levers of world power,\u201d according to the Southern Poverty Law Center.<\/p>\n

Stephen Jackson, 42, took aim at the Eagles, who said that the messages DeSean Jackson shared \u201cwere offensive, harmful, and absolutely app<\/a>alling.\u201d<\/p>\n

Stephen Jackson \u2014 who also co-hosts the Showtime podcast \u201cAll the Smoke\u201d with Matt Barnes \u2014 and DeSean Jackson are not related.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou killing us, police killing us and treating us like s\u2013t, racism at an all-time high, but none of you NFL owners spoke up on that,\u201d Stephen Jackson said. \u201cAnd none of you teams spoke up on that.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Eagles, as well as a majority of North American sports teams, did release a statement condemning systemic racism following the death of George Floyd, an unarmed black man who died after a white Minnesota police officer kept his knee on Floyd\u2019s neck for more than eight minutes in May.<\/p>\n

Stephen Jackson, who was friends with Floyd and has been outspoken about racial injustice since Floyd\u2019s death, also ripped the Eagles for being \u201cThe same team that had a receiver say n\u2014-r publicly and they gave him an extension.\u201d<\/p>\n

Jackson, who retired from the NBA after the 2015 season, was likely referring to former Eagles receiver Riley Cooper, who is white and in 2013 was filmed saying at a concert, \u201cI will fight every n\u2014-r here.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Eagles fined Cooper an undisclosed amount and released a statement similar to the one issued Tuesday:<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are shocked and appalled by Riley Cooper\u2019s words,\u201d Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie said in 2013. \u201cThis sort of behavior or attitude from anyone has no role in a civil society. He has accepted responsibility for his words and his actions. He has been fined for this incident.\u201d<\/p>\n

DeSean Jackson has since deleted all of the posts and apologized, saying that he was \u201ctrying to uplift African Americans and slavery\u201d but didn\u2019t \u201creally realize what this passage was saying.\u201d In a statement Tuesday night, DeSean Jackson pledged to educate himself more.<\/p>\n

It was unclear whether DeSean Jackson will be disciplined for his actions. Lurie was born to Jewish parents, but does not practice the religion, while GM Howie Roseman is Jewish.\n <\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
