\n A Pennsylvania judge suspended a constable Wednesday over a series<\/a> of \u201cdespicable\u201d Facebook<\/a> posts calling for a \u201crace war\u201d and characterizing Black Lives Matter protesters as terrorists.<\/p>\n

Pete Dardas \u2014 a Berks County constable since 2009 \u2014 was suspended indefinitely by a judge just two days after District Attorney John Adams learned of the \u201cdespicable racist rhetoric\u201d on his personal Facebook page, the DA told The Post.<\/p>\n

Dardas, whose profile was no longer available Wednesday, made a series of troubling posts dating back to at least mid-June, including some that encouraged a \u201ccivil\/race war\u201d and called for the removal of the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. memorial in Washington.<\/p>\n

Dardas also complained that people were getting fired from jobs because they disagreed with Black Lives Matter demonstrators, according to screenshots circulating online.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe minute you say that people jump all over your ass, so I guess I\u2019ll say this black lives don\u2019t matter anymore than white lives,\u201d Dardas wrote.<\/p>\n

In another post from late last month, Dardas urged armed Americans to \u201ctake back our streets\u201d from protesters, whom he characterized as \u201cthugs,\u201d and called for a \u201cblack history museum\u201d to be burned to the ground, screenshots show.<\/p>\n

Adams said he expects Dardas to resign \u201cin the very near future\u201d while noting that the suspension was effective immediately.<\/p>\n

Dardas has admitted putting up the offending posts, Adams said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe posts from his Facebook page were despicable racist rhetoric,\u201d he said. \u201cThey should never, ever have been posted.\u201d<\/p>\n

Constables in Berks County can perform duties including making summary arrests and transporting defendants to court, as well working at polls, Adams said.<\/p>\n

But aside from working at county polls as recently as 2018, Dardas has not \u201cperformed any constable services at all,\u201d Adams told The Post.<\/p>\n

\u201cI can only hope that people are learning that this type of rhetoric is completely inapp<\/a>ropriate to be posted on a public forum,\u201d Adams said. \u201cI hope people think before they type.\u201d<\/p>\n

Dardas, whose current term is set to run through 2021, ran as a Republican in 2009. He was later reelected to another six-year term in 2015, the Reading Eagle reports.\n <\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
