The fangs barely retract for a moment across the project\u2019s 12 tracks, with the intensity peaking right at the middle on \u201cBIG SHELL,\u201d track number six. The track begins with regal electronics and distorted vocals screaming with intensity of a star in Alice Glass\u2019s orbit going supernova. It\u2019s no less captivating, though, as it swings like a pendulum toward a better tomorrow. A haunting <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/watch-movies-tv-seriess\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"8\" title=\"Watch Movies &amp; TV Series\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">series<\/a> of brassy notes precedes the sound of a cassette falling into place before Nemuri\u2019s vocals take flight over gorgeous acapella melodies and buzzy electric programming. That\u2019s likely been true since he released his debut, Grey-Black-Green, a decade ago \u2014 who else had studied Robbie Basho and John Fahey and the other masters of the crudely named American Primitive movement so closely? \u2014 but what\u2019s fascinating about \u201cBlues In The Anthropocene\u201d is how little it sounds like anything else from any era. Bachman is a virtuosic guitarist and the allusions to Takoma Records\u2019 heyday are of course still thick, but the combination of field recordings and ephemeral audio (that\u2019s feedback from Virginia governor Ralph Northam decaying at the end) make for something much stranger than before.
