\nSad news<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Shock G<\/strong>, co-founder of the legendary hip hop group Digital Underground<\/strong>, has passed away. The artist, real name Greg Jacobs<\/strong>, was found dead in a hotel room in Tampa, his father confirmed to TMZ<\/em>. The cause of death is not yet known. He was 57 years old.<\/p>\n

Shock G was best known for the Bay Area group\u2019s hit single The Humpty Dance<\/em>, and for his work as a producer. He collaborated with artists like Prince<\/strong>, Dr. Dre<\/strong>, Bobby Brown<\/strong>, and Tupac Shakur<\/strong>, the latter of whom had his first break on the Digital Underground track Same Song<\/em>.<\/p>\n

In an outpouring of love on Twitter<\/a><\/strong>, he was remembered by Ice Cube<\/strong>, MC Hammer<\/strong>, Questlove<\/strong>, Viola Davis<\/strong>, and more friends and fans. Meanwhile, Chopmaster J<\/strong>, one of the founders of Digital Underground alongside Shock G and the late Kenny-K<\/strong>, paid tribute to his friend on Instagram<\/strong>. He wrote:<\/p>\n
