This A-list birthday boy isn\u2019t in the mood to talk about how time flies.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The cast of NBC medical drama \u201cER\u201d reunited for an Earth Day clean-water campaign this Thursday, and George Clooney stole the \u201cStars in the House\u201d livestream<\/a>, cracking up colleagues and viewers alike with his personal insights \u2014 including how he feels about his upcoming birthday.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cHere\u2019s some fun. In about 10 days, I\u2019ll be 60. So f\u2013k off, all of you!\u201d Clooney told the event\u2019s packed YouTube<\/a> screen, which required actors from the 1994-2009 series<\/a> to app<\/a>ear in separate groups, since so many of them logged on for the event. <\/p>\n

In addition to Clooney, other \u201cER\u201d alumni who participated in former co-star Gloria Reuben\u2019s Waterkeeper Alliance fundraising event<\/a> included Noah Wyle, Anthony Edwards, Laura Innes and Julianna Margulies. The event was part of the \u201cStars in the House\u201d pandemic celebrity livestream series, which also raises money for the Actors Fund.\u00a0When they signed off Thursday night, the \u201cER\u201d reunion had already raised nearly $50,000 in donations for the global clean water charity \u2014 which promised fund matching up to $100,000.<\/p>\n

Clooney also mentioned during the two-hour chat that his wife, Amal Clooney, has been watching reruns of the show recently, which has been a \u201cdisastrous thing for me, because I forget all the terrible things I did as Dr. [Doug] Ross,\u201d Clooney said, referring to his character on the show. <\/p>\n

\u201cMy wife keeps going, \u2018Is that it? Are you done? Season 3, do you settle down with Nurse Hathaway?\u2019 \u201d She was referring to the drawn-out and fraught relationship between the two characters, which certainly did not end happily ever after with Season 3. <\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s been a disaster for my marriage,\u201d he quipped.<\/p>\n

Other highlights from the conversation included a cast discussion of what a contemporary show similar to \u201cER\u201d would look like today.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cWe came on the air in 1994, right when Bill Clinton [was] going to revamp the health care industry. We were in the national conversation about what health care was going to be in America,\u201d said Wyle, who played Dr. John Carter in the series, adding that a modern \u201cER\u201d remake \u201cwould be an interesting show to see.\u201d<\/p>\n

However, cast members were general<\/a>ly in agreement that the series is not in need of a reboot. \u201cYou can\u2019t catch lightning in a bottle twice,\u201d said Nurse Carol Hathaway actor Margulies.<\/p>\n
