An Asian man who was savagely stomped while collecting cans in East Harlem has been been placed in a medically induced coma, police sources told The Post.<\/p>\n

The 61-year-old suffered a cerebral contusion and facial fractures from the Friday night beatdown, the sources said. <\/p>\n

Cops said the shocking attack is being probed as a hate crime.<\/p>\n

A disturbing, 12-second video released Saturday by the NYPD shows the 61-year-old being repeatedly kicked at around 8:20 p.m. Friday after being attacked from behind at the foot of a 19-story apartment building under construction at 3rd Avenue and East 125th Street.<\/p>\n

EMS transported the victim \u2014 who suffered severe head trauma \u2014 to Harlem Hospital, where he is listed in critical but stable condition, police said.<\/p>\n

The vicious attack comes amid a rash of\u00a0hate crimes\u00a0against Asian Americans in the boroughs and beyond.<\/p>\n

The suspect was last seen wearing a black jacket, black pants, white sneakers and a multi-colored baseball cap, police said.<\/p>\n
