LeBron James is mocking the Ohio-based bar owner who wants the NBA superstar kicked out of the league for his social<\/a> activism.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf anyone wants to watch an NBA game<\/a>, don\u2019t come to Linnie\u2019s Pub,\u201d Jan Linneman, owner of Linnie\u2019s Pub in Cincinnati, wrote on Facebook, according to multiple outlets. \u201cWe will not air them until Lebron James has been expelled from the NBA.\u201d<\/p>\n

James, who grew up in Akron, Ohio, caught wind of the boycott.<\/p>\n

\u201cAww Damn!\u201d he wrote on Twitter in a sarcastic post accompanied by a \u201cwoozy face\u201d emoji. \u201cI was headed there to watch our game tonight and have a drink! Welp\u201d<\/p>\n

Linneman\u2019s stance is that basketball players \u201cjust need to play the game and that\u2019s it\u201d because \u201ctheir opinion doesn\u2019t really matter,\u201d according to MSN.com.<\/a><\/p>\n

James, 36, is no stranger to criticisms for bringing politics and activism into sports. Fox News<\/a> host Laura Ingraham once told him to \u201cshut up and dribble\u201d and soccer star Zlatan Ibrahimovic more recently suggested James should stick to sports.<\/p>\n

But this latest round stems from a Tweet that James sent and later deleted about the police officer who shot and killed 16-year-old black girl Ma\u2019Khia Bryant in Columbus after responding to a report of a knife attack.<\/p>\n

James\u2019 tweet included a photo of the officer and the words \u201cYOU\u2019RE NEXT #ACCOUNTABILITY.\u201d<\/p>\n

In explaining his intentions, James later wrote, \u201cI\u2019m so damn tired of seeing Black people killed by police. I took the Tweet down because it\u2019s being used to create more hate. This isn\u2019t about one officer. It\u2019s about the entire system and they always use our words to create more racism. I am so desperate for more ACCOUNTABILITY.\u201d<\/p>\n

Former president Donald Trump released a statement calling James a \u201cracist,\u201d according to reports.<\/p>\n

\u201cLeBron James should focus on basketball rather than presiding over the destruction of the NBA, which has just recorded the lowest television RATINGS, by far, in the long and distinguished history of the League,\u201d Trump said.<\/p>\n

\u201cHis RACIST rants are divisive, nasty, insulting, and demeaning. He may be a great basketball player, but he is doing nothing to bring our Country together!\u201d<\/p>\n

James has missed the Lakers\u2019 last 17 games due to injury but is expected to return to the floor before the playoffs so he can gear up for an NBA title defense.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
