Vlogger. Vlogging. These are terms that have become common in our modern YouTube world. But what does it actually mean to be a \u201cvlogger?\u201d Where did the term \u201cvlog\u201d come from? A vlog is simply a blog where the medium is a video instead of written words.<\/p>\n<p>Of course, \u201cblog\u201d isn\u2019t much more de<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">script<\/a>ive than \u201cvlog.\u201d Both of these terms are fairly open-ended. Blogs and vlogs encompass a variety of different things, and that\u2019s part of the point.<\/p>\n<p>Someone could run a fashion blog and write about makeup and clothes. In the same way, that person could have a fashion vlog where they reveal their makeup routine and show off new clothes.<\/p>\n<p>A vlog is most often a personal video that is filmed by the subject themselves. It\u2019s common for vlogging channels on YouTube to upload videos weekly or even daily. Like the bloggers who write blogs, a vlogger is typically expected to routinely release new content.<\/p>\n<p>The easiest way to think of a vlog is as a personal video created firsthand for the internet.<\/p>\n<h2 role=\"heading\" aria-level=\"2\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"When_Did_Vlogging_Start\"><\/span>When Did Vlogging Start?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>People typically associate vlogging with YouTube, but the concept of a \u201cvlog\u201d has been around for a long time. The first \u201cvideo blog\u201d can be traced back to the early 2000s, but\u00a0it wasn\u2019t until YouTube came around that the idea of\u00a0vlogging really stuck.<\/p>\n<p>As we\u2019ve previously mentioned, a vlog is just a blog in video form, but <em>vlogging<\/em> is sort of a separate beast. You could go on a <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/trip-and-travel\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"10\" title=\"Trip &amp; Travel\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">trip<\/a> to the zoo, record a bunch of videos all day, and edit them together into a single \u201cvlog\u201d titled \u201cDay at the Zoo.\u201d Are you now a vlogger? Technically, but not quite.<\/p>\n<p>Vlogging has become a subgenre on YouTube. Even the person we mentioned above who creates fashion vlogs wouldn\u2019t necessarily be considered a \u201cvlogger.\u201d The term has evolved to mean something more specific.<\/p>\n<p>Nowadays, a \u201cvlogger\u201d is considered to be someone who creates personal videos that feature themselves and their life as the main subject. These types of videos are also typically released on a strict schedule, sometimes even every day of the week.<\/p>\n<p>Even by modern definitions, vlogging has been around for a while. Adam Kontras is known as the \u201clongest active vlogger.\u201d He has been uploading vlogs routinely to <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/channel\/UCoR8u0gKhI78Vz_AbHbxJFQ\">his YouTube channel<\/a> for over 15 years. They sport good cameras and great video features and editing tools. Many vloggers got their start with an iPhone, and you can, too.
