We\u2019re honoring storytellers,\u201d Glenn Weiss, who will be directing the Oscars broadcast for the sixth time this year, <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.vulture.com\/2021\/04\/this-years-oscars-ceremony-will-be-completely-different.html\">told Vulture<\/a>, adamantly responding \u201cNo!\u201d when asked if he could possibly offer a bit more detail.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The Academy did not return The Post\u2019s request for comment.\u00a0But the secrecy may be intended to add to the hype for the in-person event, as showrunners are no doubt hopeful they can finally reverse the downward awards show ratings trend with this year\u2019s event. The show, an Academy staffer explained in a recent Zoom meeting, is being treated like a movie production and guests will thus not be required to wear masks on camera, <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/2021\/awards\/awards\/oscars-attendees-masks-covid-1234954802\/\">Variety reported<\/a>. When not on camera, though \u2014 including during commercial breaks \u2014 the 170 guests will be asked to wear masks.\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Safe_set_design\"><\/span><strong>Safe set design<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>While the COVID-era norms of constant masking and remote attendance have been nixed, the Academy is putting the ongoing pandemic first in terms of set design. David Rockwell, founder of NYC architecture firm Rockwell Group, has outfitted Los Angeles\u2019 Union Station \u2014 which recently wr<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>ed a massive renovation, and where the event will take place \u2014 with scenic but coronavirus-conscious designs including distanced tables, couches and a <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/general\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"3\" title=\"General\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">general<\/a>ly living room-like setup, according to <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/tvshowbiz\/article-9498901\/Oscars-set-design-LOOK-Academy-Awards-COVID-safe-ceremony-revealed.html\">renderings<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The proceedings will also take place at LA\u2019s Dolby Theatre and 20 international satellite locations.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"No_host\"><\/span><strong>No host<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>This year\u2019s event will, for the third consecutive year, not have a host, but an \u201censemble cast\u201d of presenters. This long cast of names includes Harrison Ford, Angela Bassett, Halle Berry and Laura Dern.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"It_will_%E2%80%9Cfeel_like_a_film%E2%80%9D\"><\/span><strong>It will \u201cfeel like a film\u201d<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>While the specifics may still be somewhat vague, producers promise that viewers and attendees alike will enjoy a truly cinematic experience this Sunday.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe most exciting thing about this show is that it is going to feel like a film, in the sense that, at the end, we hope it\u2019ll feel like you watched a movie,\u201d producer Steven Soderbergh <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.vanityfair.com\/hollywood\/2021\/04\/04\/oscars-2021-producers-interview-steven-soderbergh-stacey-sher-jesse-collins?redirectURL=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.vanityfair.com%2Fhollywood%2F2021%2F04%2Foscars-2021-producers-interview-steven-soderbergh-stacey-sher-jesse-collins\">told Vanity Fair<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cEverybody will be a character: Every nominee, every person that gives an award, will feel like characters in a film. And in the end, you\u2019ll know who everybody was and what they wanted. You\u2019ll have a connection to everyone in this show.
