{"id":235292,"date":"2021-04-25T22:04:57","date_gmt":"2021-04-25T19:04:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/en.buradabiliyorum.com\/david-quinn-explains-why-rangers-continue-to-sit-julien-gauthier\/"},"modified":"2021-04-25T22:04:57","modified_gmt":"2021-04-25T19:04:57","slug":"david-quinn-explains-why-rangers-continue-to-sit-julien-gauthier","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/david-quinn-explains-why-rangers-continue-to-sit-julien-gauthier\/","title":{"rendered":"#David Quinn explains why Rangers continue to sit Julien Gauthier"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&#8220;<strong>#David Quinn explains why Rangers continue to sit Julien Gauthier<\/strong>&#8221;<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Julien Gauthier.<\/p>\n<p>You remember him, don\u2019t you?<\/p>\n<p>Twenty-three-year-old winger, righthanded shot, Carolina first-rounder acquired last year in a trade, 6-4, 230, drives to the net, has intermittent issues in his own end of the ice and away from the puck.<\/p>\n<p>Hasn\u2019t played since April 3.<\/p>\n<p>That Julien Gauthier.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere are only so many times you can talk to him about the situation we\u2019re in,\u201d head coach David Quinn said before Gauthier\u2019s 12th straight healthy scratch and 22nd overall would come against the Sabres at the Garden on Sunday. \u201cHe\u2019s worked really hard, there has been talk about getting him in, but at the end of the day he\u2019s just got to keep being the professional he\u2019s been and work as hard as he has off the ice.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Gauthier, who has recorded two goals and eight points in 27 <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/game\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"7\" title=\"Game\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">game<\/a>s, slid down the right-wing ladder once Vitali Kravtsov was deemed ready. Why would a player like it sitting as long as he has?\u201d Quinn asked rhetorically. \u201cBut with all the young players we have and the way some of the veterans are playing \u2014 guys we might target as who could come out of the lineup \u2014 we just don\u2019t think that\u2019s the thing to do right now.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s not easy for him but he\u2019s handled it well. I have a lot of respect for him for the way he\u2019s handled it. It\u2019s a tough situation but he\u2019s done a good job managing it.\u201d<\/p>\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>Quinn reported that Jacob Trouba, who is believed to have sustained a concussion on that Matt Martin first-period check at the Coliseum on April 20, \u201ckeeps getting better every day.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The coach not only did not rule out No. 8\u2019s potential return at some point this season but twice categorized the defenseman as \u201cday-to-day.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>        <iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Podcast\" width=\"100%\" height=\"188px\" src=\"https:\/\/embed.acast.com\/up-in-the-blue-seats\/aretherangersplayoffhopesfinished-feat.bradpark?accentColor=2a2a2a&amp;bgColor=f6f6f6&amp;font-family=proxima%20nova&amp;logo=false&amp;secondaryColor=cc3333\" scrolling=\"no\" frameborder=\"0\" style=\"border:none;overflow:hidden;\"><br \/>\n        <\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Trouba will miss his third straight on Sunday, though, so for the third straight game the Blueshirts went with a defense that featured five players age 23 and under.<\/p>\n<p>That included Zac Jones, who made his NHL debut in Thursday\u2019s match against the Flyers, 12 days after he had played in UMass\u2019 national championship 5-0 victory over St. Cloud State.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt was awesome, the first game getting out there to play an NHL game was pretty special for me and my family,\u201d the 20-year-old said. \u201cI tried to calm my nerves pretty quickly and felt more comfortable in the second game for sure as far as speed and physicality. I hope to be getting better every game.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Jones is a lefty who has played the right side with the Rangers. That is not entirely new for him. \u201cI usually play the left but growing up until about high school, I played the right side,\u201d he said. \u201cSo I\u2019m used to either and good with either position.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Jones\u2019 ability to work on his off side has allowed him to partner with Ryan Lindgren, with whom he\u2019s played 14:57 of his 21:04 on the ice while at five-on-five. He has also gotten 2:22 on the second power-play unit.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLindy has been great for me,\u201d said Jones. \u201cHe\u2019s been talking to me all the time, giving me pointers after almost every shift, which has been great for me just learning from him and watching him on the ice.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe\u2019s been a great influence on me so far.\u201d\n            <\/p><\/div>\n<blockquote><p><strong><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">If you liked the article, do not forget to share it with your friends.
