Brine doesn\u2019t pay.<\/p>\n

U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers uncovered $4.3 million worth of methamphetamine earlier this month in a tractor-trailer hauling fresh cucumber pickles, officials said.<\/p>\n

The drugs, which CBP South Texas described on Twitter<\/a> as \u201cfunky pickles,\u201d were found on April 17 hiding among the pickles in 114 plastic-wrapp<\/a>ed packages, officials said.<\/p>\n

The long distance hauler contained 217 total pounds of contraband.<\/p>\n

Border agents at the Pharr International Bridge in Pharr, Texas, seized the drugs and truck. The case remains under investigation, CBP said in a statement<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis substantial quantity of hard narcotics will not make its final destination in the United States,\u201d said Port of Hidalgo\/Pharr\/Anzalduas Director Carlos Rodriguez.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis interdiction reinforces our officers\u2019 role in advancing CBP\u2019s border security mission by preventing dangerous drugs from entering and negatively impacting our communities.\u201d<\/p>\n
