With the multiple locations and fewer people in Los Angeles (at Union Station), those in attendance at the 93rd Annual Academy Awards<\/a> stood out \u2014 especially Supernatural<\/em><\/a> star Misha Collins<\/a>. If you were surprised, you weren\u2019t the only one. In fact, on the night of the Oscars, his name trended in the United States.<\/p>\n

The actor himself shared an explanation for his attendance on Twitter<\/a>, and it\u2019s simple: He was there supporting a friend. \u201cMy bff since I was 12 years old is nominated Oscars in 6 categories tonight and I couldn\u2019t be more proud (or jealous),\u201d he wrote alongside a photo of himself and Sound of Metal<\/em> director Darius Marder. \u201cSo happ<\/a>y for him and for this incredible, inclusive film about the deaf community and addiction and the human condition. So full of love and pride tonight\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n

Collins was spotted on the ABC broadcast early on in the show, prompting viewers to voice their surprise at seeing him.<\/p>\n

So far, Sound of Metal<\/em> has won Oscars for Best Sound and Best Film Editing. It did not win for Best Actor in a Supporting Role or Best Original Screenplay. Best Actor in a Leading Role and Best Picture have yet to be announced.<\/p>\n

Collins wrapped his time on Supernatural<\/em> as the angel Castiel as it neared the end of its 15-season run \u2014 he first appeared in the Season 4 premiere \u2014 in November 2020.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
