So much for \u201cwait for the report.\u201d<\/p>\n

Gov. Andrew Cuomo\u2019s go-to excuse for why he won\u2019t resign over allegations<\/a> of sexual harassment is that an investigation needs to happ<\/a>en first. But yesterday, when asked if he would step down if the inquiry overseen by state Attorney General<\/a> Letitia James found evidence, he said: \u201cThe report can\u2019t say anything different because I didn\u2019t do anything wrong.\u201d<\/p>\n

In other words, nothing will remove Cuomo from office unless the Legislature grows a backbone and impeaches him. Considering how state Senate Majority Leader Andrea Stewart-Cousins can\u2019t decide whether she\u2019s happy to be standing next to him or not, and she and Assembly Speaker Carl Heastie just shook him down for millions in the state budget, don\u2019t hold your breath.<\/p>\n

Nope, Cuomo is here until he\u2019s led out in handcuffs or is voted down for a fourth term next year.<\/p>\n

As for the people that say he\u2019s abusive or accuse him of bad behavior?<\/p>\n

\u201cPeople want attention,\u201d he said. \u201cPeople are angry. People are jealous.\u2019\u2019<\/p>\n

If Cuomo were a Republican, this quote would have played on a CNN loop. As he\u2019s a Democrat, and his brother works there, not a peep.<\/p>\n

This was Cuomo unmasked \u2014 no more Mr. Nice Gov. Having decided he couldn\u2019t dodge the press forever, he decided to slander his accusers and make it clear that nothing would get him out of office.<\/p>\n

But at least his continued presence on the stage serves one purpose: It\u2019s a glaring reminder of Democratic hypocrisy.\n <\/p><\/div>\n
