The haunting images are making the rounds online as developers struggle to revive the decrepit neighborhood \u2014 now the stuff of nightmares. <\/p>\n<p>Located in Turkey, the abandoned village first began construction in 2014, and was initially designed as a luxury community for foreign buyers.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Known as the\u00a0Burj Al Babas project, the village \u2014 located on the base of Turkey\u2019s northwestern mountains \u2014\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>ears to be a diorama of miniature villas. <\/p>\n<p>The residences all look the same, with bluish-gray steeples and Gothic fixtures, calling to mind the castles in Disney films and theme parks.<\/p>\n<p>But hit by a devastating economic downturn in Turkey, the once-grand plan crumbled, leaving the mini chateaus hollow. CEO, Mezher Yerdelen, told the New York Times in <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2019\/03\/03\/world\/europe\/turkey-castle-development.html\">a 2019
