Brain-computer interfaces\u00a0have been a lotta hype since Elon Musk announced his plan to implant\u00a0microchips are everyone\u2019s brains.<\/p>\n

We\u2019ll probably be waiting years until Musk\u2019s minions get FDA app<\/a>roval to drill\u00a0into our skulls. But in the meantime, a\u00a0growing list of companies are\u00a0offering less invasive BCIs<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The latest entry to the market\u00a0comes from Neurable. The Boston-based startup\u00a0today unveiled a pair of headphones<\/a>\u00a0\u2014 called Enten \u2014 that use brainwave sensors to measure focus levels throughout the day.<\/p>\n

Neurable\u2019s app then provides data about your focus patterns, such as the times at which you\u2019re most productive and when you need to take a break.<\/p>\n

You can then auto-mute notifications based on your focus levels, activate noise cancellation, or switch on a light that acts as a \u201cdo not disturb\u201d signal.<\/p>\n

Users can also listen to music while they\u00a0work to find out which songs and genres\u00a0improve their concentration and which ones cause a distraction. The system picks up gestures like winks and nods to mute or skip tracks, while also offering traditional device buttons.<\/p>\n
