During a semiconductor shortage and a global pandemic, Sony has managed to sell over 7.8 million units of the PlayStation 5 in FY2021, i.e., as of March 31, 2021.<\/p>\n

Sony has shipped and sold 3.3 million units in the past quarter alone. The demand, still, remains much higher than the supply.<\/p>\n

For reference, during the same timeframe, the PS4 sold 7.6 million units.<\/p>\n

Ending March 31, 2021, over 338.9 million game<\/a>s were sold for the PS4 and the PS5. This includes both packaged and digital copies. 65% or 220 million were digital sales, and 17% or 58.4 million were Sony\u2019s first-party games.<\/p>\n
