The feature directorial debut of\u00a0<strong>Enrico Casarosa<\/strong>, who worked on previous Pixar films such as\u00a0<em>Up<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0<em>Coco<\/em> and directed the lovely Pixar short\u00a0<em>La Luna<\/em>,\u00a0<em>Luca<\/em> is loosely based on Casarosa\u2019s own childhood growing up alongside the sunny Italian Riviera. Sans sea monsters, of course. Watch the new official\u00a0<em>Luca<\/em> trailer below.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Luca_Trailer\"><\/span>Luca Trailer<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Disney and Pixar\u2019s Luca | Official Trailer | Disney+\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/mYfJxlgR2jw?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><br \/>\n<!-- SlashFilm_300x250_In_Post --><strong>Jacob Tremblay<\/strong>\u00a0leads the cast as the titular Luca Paguro, \u201ca<span class=\"m_392169010771574083apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span>bright and inventive 13-year-old sea monster with endless curiosity\u2014especially when it comes to the mysterious world above the sea,\u201d while\u00a0<strong>Jack Dylan Grazer<\/strong>\u00a0plays an adventurous friend who introduces Luca to the surface world, Alberto Scorfano, \u201can independent, free-spirited teenage sea monster with unbridled enthusiasm for the human world.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The two of them discover the ability to transform into humans when they\u2019re dry and decide to explore the nearby town, whose residents have a frightening superstition of evil sea monsters. Nervously hiding their true identities, the pair of them enter a race that will allow them to win enough money to buy a Vespa \u2014 what they think of as a magical vehicle that can take them anywhere in the world.<\/p>\n<p>Directed by Casarosa, who conceived the story, and written\u00a0by <strong>Mike Jones<\/strong> and <strong>Jesse Andrews<\/strong>,\u00a0<em>Luca<\/em> looks like a much more lighthearted affair after the existential exploration of\u00a0<em>Soul<\/em>.\u00a0Though there\u2019s nothing wrong with that, in fact, it\u2019s decidedly refreshing. <i>Luca<\/i> tackles\u00a0a familiar genre \u2014 the coming-of-age story \u2014 but gives it a whimsical little twist: the sea monster protagonists whose friendship and <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>earances (notably the Timoth\u00e9e Chalamet coif that Luca has) have drawn comparisons to <em>Call Me By Your Name<\/em>.
