By default, when you click on the File Explorer shortcut on your Windows 10 taskbar, it opens to Quick Access. If you\u2019d prefer it to open to \u201cThis PC\u201d instead, it\u2019s easy to change in File Explorer settings. Here\u2019s how.<\/p>\n

First, open any File Explorer window. In the menu, click File > Change folder and search options.<\/p>\n

In \u201cFolder Options,\u201d click the \u201cGeneral<\/a>\u201d tab, then click the menu beside \u201cOpen File Explorer to.\u201d<\/p>\n

In the menu that app<\/a>ears, select \u201cThis PC.\u201d<\/p>\n

This is the modern replacement for \u201cMy Computer\u201d on Windows, and it shows internal disks, external storage devices, network locations, and frequently used folders like your Downloads, Desktop, and Documents directories.<\/p>\n

Click OK, and \u201cFolder Options\u201d will close. The next time you open File Explorer, you\u2019ll see \u201cThis PC\u201d as the first location that opens.<\/p>\n
