A former Pentagon investigator who claims to have run a hush-hush UFO program has warned that an upcoming blockbuster report about \u201cunidentified aerial phenomena\u201d could reveal a failure by US intelligence agencies on par with 9\/11.<\/p>\n

Luis \u201cLue\u201d Elizondo, former head of the\u00a0Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program, has told The Post about the document slated for release in June under a mandate contained in former President Donald Trump\u2019s $2.3 trillion app<\/a>ropriations bill for this year.<\/p>\n

The whistleblower said the highly anticipated report will address what UFO believers have been clamoring to discover about Tic Tac-shaped objects\u00a0the Navy saw in 2004, the strange\u00a0\u201ccubes within spheres\u201d<\/a>\u00a0seen by naval aviators in 2014 and\u00a0mysterious black triangles<\/a> reported around the world.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am not a UFO guy, I am an investigator, my job was (simply) to collect the data and speak the truth,\u201d Elizondo told the US Sun<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere is something in our skies, we don\u2019t know what it is, we don\u2019t know how it works, we don\u2019t know fully what it can do, we don\u2019t know who is behind the wheel, we don\u2019t know its intentions, and there isn\u2019t a damn thing we can do about it,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf it turns out we have been leapfrogged technologically by a foreign adversary, then we are dealing with an intelligence failure on the level of 9\/11,\u201d Elizondo told the outlet. <\/p>\n

\u201cIt took three years to write the 9\/11 report \u2014 and I am not sure if these things have been in our skies for decades that 180 days is enough time to provide the level of information Congress is asking for and deserves,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

Elizondo\u00a0made it clear in a press conference that UFOs have been observed\u00a0to have qualities that are nothing less than otherworldly.<\/p>\n

He described vessels flying at 11,000 mph and being able to turn \u201cinstantly.\u201d<\/p>\n

Providing a comparison, he explained, for our most advanced jets going at the same speed, \u201cif you wanted to make a right-hand turn, it would take you about half the state of Ohio to do it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Elizondo resigned from the AATIP as he sought to bring the discussion about the UFOs into the mainstream, describing them as a \u201cnational security issue.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen I was at AATIP, our purpose was to try and find a conventional explanation,\u201d he told the US Sun. \u201cIt was only when we exhausted all options that we became increasingly engaged.\u201d<\/p>\n

When asked whether Russia and China are also studying UFOs, he said, \u201cWe have every reason to believe that foreign adversarial countries are equally \u2014 if not more \u2014 interested in these topics than we are.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat has been validated through various sources. We are certain about that,\u201d he added to the outlet.<\/p>\n
