After all, both shows have been renewed for a season 2!<\/p>\n<p>Today, the network confirmed these season 2 renewals, with NBCUniversal president of <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">script<\/a>ed programming Lisa Katz having the following to say:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">\u201cIt has been a true joy to watch Dwayne Johnson and Kenan Thompson on NBC every week and see families connect with their relatable, entertaining and heartwarming stories \u2026 We\u2019re thrilled to renew both of these shows for another season and can\u2019t wait to see more from Dwayne, Kenan and the incredibly talented casts and producing teams behind each of them.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>We can\u2019t say that we\u2019re shocked at all about\u00a0<em>Young Rock\u00a0<\/em>being renewed, given that the Dwayne Johnson origin story did a good job of keeping and developing an audience over the course of the season. With that being said, we\u2019re a little more surprised about\u00a0<em>Kenan.\u00a0<\/em>The ratings for Thompson\u2019s sitcom weren\u2019t exactly stellar but ultimately, our guess is that NBC wants to lean into Peacock to boost the numbers plus also rely on the star\u2019s name recognition. Because he is a huge part of their world thanks to\u00a0<em>Saturday Night Live,\u00a0<\/em>they will probably continue to push this show at every turn.\u00a0<em>Kenan\u00a0<\/em>had a long road to getting on the air in <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/general\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"3\" title=\"General\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">general<\/a>, as it was originally planned for the 2019-20 season before it underwent some retooling and aired at midseason.<\/p>\n<p>As for when both of these shows will premiere in the 2021-22 season, we\u2019ll have to wait and see \u2014 the official fall schedule is going to be revealed when NBC holds their official upfront presentation at some point in May. It will probably look somewhat similar to the scaled-back schedule reveal that they did last year.
