Ben Stiller, who directed and starred in the hit 2001 comedy film \u201cZoolander\u201d \u2014 which features a brief cameo from Donald Trump \u2014 said this week he won\u2019t cut the president from the movie, despite critics\u2019 calls for Stiller to erase him.<\/p>\n

Stiller portrays male supermodel Derek Zoolander in the nearly 20-year-old flick \u2014 and said on the Daily Beast podcast \u201cThe New Abnormal\u201d that when an opportunity arose for The Donald to be part of the production, he jumped on it.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe were shooting at the now defunct VH1 Fashion Awards \u2026 and as people were coming up the red carpet, we pulled them aside and asked them to talk about Derek Zoolander, and so Trump and Melania did that,\u201d Stiller said on the podcast.<\/p>\n

Years later, of course, Trump became president. And recently, his vocal opponents told Stiller he should nix Trump\u2019s app<\/a>earance entirely. But the \u201cEscape at Dannemora\u201d director is not having it.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve had people reach out to me and say, \u2018You should edit Donald Trump out of \u201cZoolander,\u201d \u2018 but at the end of the day, that was a time when that exists and that happened,\u201d said Stiller of refusing to alter his film.<\/p>\n

\u201cZoolander\u201d is far from the president\u2019s only silver-screen appearance. He can be spotted in the 1992 classic \u201cHome Alone 2: Lost in New York\u201d and \u201cTwo Weeks Notice,\u201d a 2002 film starring Hugh Grant and Sandra Bullock. On television, he appeared in \u201cSex and the City,\u201d \u201cSuddenly Susan,\u201d \u201cThe Fresh Prince of Bel-Air\u201d and others.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere were so many movies<\/a> [back then] that had a silly cameo from Donald Trump,\u201d Stiller said. \u201cHe represented a certain thing.\u201d\n <\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
