Eli Roth<\/strong>\u2018s\u00a0Borderlands<\/em><\/strong> movie continues to add cast members. The latest:\u00a0Gina Gershon<\/strong>\u00a0will play Moxxi,\u00a0Cheyenne Jackson<\/strong>\u00a0has been cast as Jakobs, and\u00a0Steven Boyer<\/strong>\u00a0is Scooter. I have no idea who any of those characters are, but if you\u2019ve played the\u00a0Borderlands<\/em> game<\/a>s, you might! Gershon, Jackson, and Boyer join a cast that already includes Jamie Lee Curtis<\/strong>, Cate Blanchett<\/strong>, Jack Black<\/strong>, Kevin Hart<\/strong>, Haley Bennett<\/strong>, and more.<\/p>\n

However Borderlands<\/em> turns out, it\u2019s bound to have one of the most interesting casts in a while. As of right now, here\u2019s the cast:\u00a0Cate Blanchett as Lilith; Kevin Hart as Roland; Jamie Lee Curtis as Dr. Patricia Tannis; Jack Black as Claptrap; Ariana Greenblatt<\/strong> as Tiny Tina; Florian Munteanu<\/strong> as Krieg; Haley Bennett as\u2026well, we actually don\u2019t know her character name, she\u2019s playing a new character invented for the film who is \u201ckey\u00a0to the past of Cate Blanchett\u2019s character, Lilith\u201d; \u00c9dgar Ram\u00edrez<\/strong> as Atlas; Olivier Richters<\/strong> as Krom; Janina Gavankar<\/strong> as Commander Knoxx; Gina Gershon as Moxxi; Cheyenne Jackson as Jakobs; Charles Babalola<\/strong> as Hammerlock; Benjamin Byron<\/strong> Davis as Marcus; Steven Boyer as Scooter; Ryann Redmond<\/strong> as Ellie; Bobby Lee<\/strong> as Larry. I must admit that in the midst of all those character names I like that there\u2019s someone just named \u201cLarry.\u201d
\nThe film is \u201cLoosely based on the video game series<\/a> of the same name, mysterious outlaw Lilith returns to the planet Pandora and is hired by Atlas to find his missing daughter with the help of Roland, Tannis, Tiny Tina, Krieg, and Claptrap, fighting through its various monsters and bandits on a quest for unthinkable power.\u201d The\u00a0Borderlands<\/em> game series launched in 2009, with the latest release,\u00a0Borderlands 3<\/em>, arriving in 2019. The games have inspired novels, comics, and even tabletop games.<\/p>\n

Eli Roth is directing the flick, with\u00a0Chernobyl<\/em> creator\u00a0Craig Mazin<\/strong>\u00a0<\/strong>handling the script<\/a>. Filming has already begun on the project, but there\u2019s no official release date just yet. Having never played a single\u00a0Borderlands<\/em> game, I am neutral on this project as a whole. I think the cast is pretty neat, but I\u2019m also not much of a fan of Eli Roth. In fact, I don\u2019t think I like any of his movies. So at the moment it\u2019s a tad difficult to get too excited about what\u2019s going on here. But a solid trailer and good word-of-mouth might be all I need to get hyped up for\u00a0Borderlands<\/em>.<\/p>\n
