Rice<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">\u201cI\u2019m saving money, and I love it,\u201d Cass, a psychologist and author, told The Post. While he has incurred some new costs during lockdown, including private remote-learning classes for his twin children to supplement their public-school classes, he\u2019s pleased to mostly avoid the 20-mile daily commute from his Westchester home to the Midtown office of Competitive Streak Consulting, where he works as a performance coach for executives.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI have only been in my office once in the last seven months since I can work remotely,\u201d Cass said. <\/p>\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">The 45-year-old\u2019s monthly gains include saving $650 on parking, $100 on gas, $30 on his daily Starbucks and lunch runs, and $7 in daily tolls on the Henry Hudson. His wife is not so fortunate. Dinners out with friends several times a week. Frequent and expensive vacations. Regular tickets to wellness and spiritual events, as well as  Broadway shows live concerts and more \u2014\u00a0plus Ubers back and forth to all of it.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn 2019 and in early 2020, I took vacations to Australia, Hawaii and Jackson Hole, Wyoming,\u201d said the executive at Kindbody fertility center in the Flatiron District.<\/p>\n<p>Then came COVID. \u201cThe pause on my New York City lifestyle \u2014\u00a0because of the shutdowns, <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/trip-and-travel\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"10\" title=\"Trip &amp; Travel\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">travel<\/a> restrictions and working from home \u2014 caused me to spend much less,\u201d said Cerrone, who is single.<\/p>\n<p>Before the pandemic, Cerrone had accumulated about $20,000 in debt. But now she has paid it all off. Rice<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Working from his Ho-Ho-Kus, NJ, home is nothing new for Healy, a self-employed media manager. But the 57-year-old used to have to travel to Manhattan a couple days a week for client meetings, lunches and events \u2014\u00a0regularly costing him $270 each month in bus fares and $250 for meals.<\/p>\n<p>Besides that, he\u2019s now saving $100 a month in dry-cleaning, since there is no need to press his pajamas. And, Healy said, there have also been incalculable health savings since the pandemic started.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOn the bus you certainly feel the road and the fits and starts,\u201d he said. \u201cIt takes a bit of a mental and physical toll on you over time.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Healy\u2019s wife, Victoria, a market research analyst, has also cut back on the trips to her office in New York City, helping the family save even more.<\/p>\n<p>Still, that newly freed up money isn\u2019t just sitting in the bank.<\/p>\n<p>Said Healy: \u201cI have two kids in college.
